Vacation Reflections

Summer is peaking, vacations are underway. As July ends, August begins and I find myself asking "From what do I need a vacation?"

Vacation is literally the act of leaving something previously occupied. The Latin root means "to be unoccupied." Interesting. I see the opportunity in a vacation to leave our old ideas, routines, habits of thinking and behavior behind. This may or may not involve travel, taking time off from work, or visiting friends and family. At the heart of the concept of vacation lies a portal for spiritual renewal, a revival of our heart's desire, an occasion to shift our focus to our true priorities, an opportunity to occupy a new space.

This vacation season, I am choosing to take a break from my fears and worries, to get away from my well-worn points of view, to let go of habits that no longer inspire me. Instead, I am occupying a place of willingness to see life as it is known in the Light and also to see myself and the important people in my life as they are known in the Light of Truth.

My friends, whether you are enjoying a "staycation" or traveling to exotic lands, I invite you to take a break from your customary ways and join me in the land of willingness to be renewed on every level.

For the month of August, I am particularly excited about my new one hour teleclass entitled "Standing Present, Facing Future," in which we will consciously engage in preparation for the unprecedented spiritual change occurring at this moment in history. Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
As a practitioner of the Akashic Records, how does the communication occur when you are telling the stories of lifetimes to someone? Do you communicate in metaphor?

Linda:
This is a great, very sophisticated question! Let’s say that you are addressing some issue in your life. You bring your question to the Records, and you ask when did this difficulty start? When we work in the Records, we want to go to the point of origin of the difficulty, and to the true nature of the problem.

When the communication comes through the Records, a lot depends upon the practitioner, and that is part of our work as beginning practitioners, to really learn how we get guidance and insight from the Records.

Some people are visual; they see all kinds of things. Those images need to be described. When we work in the Records, we describe what we see. Some people see, some people hear, some people have a sense of knowing. If you just describe how it is, it is up to the recipient of the reading to interpret. Sometimes there are things that I think are metaphors, that I think are just symbolic, and the person that I’m reading will say to me, “You know, I was just on a trip the other day, and I saw that.”

So as the practitioner your responsibility is to describe whatever you are seeing, hearing, or sensing, to the best of your ability. You just put words to it, and as you do that, the person you are reading will let you know if it is a metaphor. But we don’t want to rely on things like metaphors, symbols, and archetypes. Those things are very helpful, but the Records can be very literal. In the Records, it is quite common that we see what is; we get what is. So this is something you want to work with.

Follow-up:
I have been doing a lot of what I call “soul work” right now. Does that help? I tend to be very deep. I am doing a lot of work with my shadow, and with creating a relationship with the so-called Higher Self. I have been doing this intensely for the past year, and I have wanted to do some Akashic reading, not knowing that it existed out there in a form like you have created, like in a class. So, this was very intriguing when I saw this.

Linda:
This is soul work. The Akashic Records is the soul level. The opportunity in working with the Akashic Records is to develop a more conscious relationship with your soul.

In classes, I am beginning to introduce some of my new work, my new audio and my new book, Healing Through the Akashic Records. This is about using the Records as a practice, as a resource for our personal healing to resolve issues; for example, self-abandonment. Through this work we are learning how to utilize the Records to transform our wounds from barriers to our aliveness into launching pads for our transformation. I am so excited about this work. If you are doing soul-level work, you would love it.

Question:
How much healing does the practitioner/teacher really need to do? I am saying this literally, but if a true teacher/healer can do work, wouldn’t I really need to be healed of whatever?

Linda:
Healing is an infinite process. We are infinite beings. Our healing is an infinite process. If we are standing on a circle, you can always look to the right. Any point you are on the circle, there is always right. That is the beauty of this; the Records are an infinite resource.

I have to tell you, I started working in the Records in 1994, and at that time I had no idea what “infinite” meant! I thought it was like this sweet, spiritual word. I found out what it means. It is never-ending, and it is a process of revelation. The job of the practitioner is to be one step ahead of your clients.

This is a perfect Universe, and the Universe will not send someone to you that you cannot help. Somebody who is far beyond you in growth is not coming to you for a reading. It is an energetic impossibility. The people who will come to you will see that you have been through what they are going through, and that you are on the other side. That is why they will seek you out. They will know that Light in you. That is what is so exciting.

We know from a Records perspective that the soul in its nature is perfect. The work of healing through the Records is using our wounds to discover our soul’s perfection. This is exciting work, and these are wonderful questions.

Question:
How can I know when you will be coming to my area to teach a class?

Linda:
The calendar on our website, akashicstudies.com, has a current listing of all scheduled classes. When a group or organization invites me to travel to their city to teach or speak, we work with them to schedule it on my calendar, but I am not always “on the road” touring different parts of the country or world!

When I can’t be there to teach in person, I do teleconferences and online classes, and these might tide you over.

Starting in February of 2011, I am offering a year-long course for the Advanced Akashic Practitioner. We meet four times during the year for five-day classes, here in the Chicago area. Check that out on the website. It is a remarkable class.

Question:
Have you read The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi? I just bought the book, and I am just wondering what you think about it?

Linda:
Yes, yes, of course I have. This book, The Aquarian Gospel, was written in the middle of the 19th century by Levi, who was a Presbyterian minister in Ohio. He actually brought this work through the Records. He was a rigorous religious scholar and theologian, and he brought this through. Quite a beautiful work. I am not a theologian; I don’t know the first thing about gospels.

The introduction, which was written by his daughter, I believe, speaks about the Akashic Records. The edition I have was published about 1907. The introduction is brilliant in its description of the Records. I actually quote it in my book because it is so perfect.

Question:
I have been doing the Akashic Records, and I was doing so well, and all of a sudden I am getting nothing. Why? What would be happening? Another person asked me if I would do a reading for him, and I did it, and I got something, and I gave it to him, and it was right on. But for myself, I haven’t been getting anything.

Linda:
I want you to do three things. Here is the first thing: If you are getting nothing, start writing down what kind of nothing you are getting. I know this sounds a little strange, but energy moves on the spoken word, or the formed word, actually. The more you put words to what you are getting, even if it is nothing, as you describe nothing, it starts to move the energy.

The second thing is to just jot down what you are getting, and do not re-read it, even if it makes no sense. Just jot down what it seems like maybe you are getting, even if it is nothing, but don’t read it for about a week. At the end of a week, go back and look at it.

The final thing, is to keep with it. Keep moving with this. If you keep applying what you are getting -- if they are telling you to rest or whatever they are telling you -- apply what they are telling you, and you will get more. Whereas, if you don’t apply what you are getting, it will shut down.

Follow-up:
Somebody said that to me, exactly what you said. If I am not moving on what I have been getting, instead of repeating it, they have just backed off. I might have become a little bit stuck because I have received several very dramatic images about a situation in my life and I don’t know what to do with the information I’m getting in the Records.

Linda:
Right. You are not going to get anything new unless you use what they have given you.

Here is what I want you to do that with those dramatic images. The next time you go into the Records, ask “What does this mean? How do you want me to work with this? How does this help me?” If you get a dramatic image, or a dramatic image of any kind, the purpose is not to scare the daylights out of you, even though sometimes it might. This is the opportunity to go in and ask them to help you work through things. One of the things that happens in our relationship with the Records is that we learn how to negotiate some difficulties. We learn how to move through things, and they can take you by the hand on that.

Question:
I just recently bought your book, “How to Read the Akashic Records,” and I started reading it and I noticed that there are a number of things to do as you are going through it. I am wondering, is it better to just read the book all of the way through before I actually try any of those things, or…

Linda:
I really think it is a very good idea to read the whole book through, so that you know what you are in for! Seriously, read the whole book through, and then go back. You understand that as you are reading it, you probably feel things stirring within yourself, and it kicks up ideas. So read through it, and then go back and start over and work through it, because then you will have a better sense of the whole picture, and then you can start moving through it a little bit at a time. It is really wise to pay attention to how much you can really do right now. Take it a step at a time, and you will be just fine.

I also have the audio set. The exercises are on mp3 files, and you can get that through my website. You can just put your headset on, and I walk you through it. You might want to try that, as well.

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I am very new at this. I am three-quarters of the way through the book and have been doing the Akashic Records meditation. I’ve been doing pretty good with it. The first time was like, WOW! The second and third times were like okay, but sometimes I wonder if this is just a meditation or if I am really in the Records. I know that when I read the Pathway Prayer and open the Records, it feels different than a meditation; I can tell you that.

Linda:
It is different than a meditation. This is not a regular meditation. I have been working in the Records since 1994. I have been teaching since 1996. Over the course of the years I got this meditation. What I was told through my own work in the Records is that this meditation will support going deeper in the Records. That is the purpose of the meditation. The meditation does feel like the Records to a lot of people. I can’t count on that meditation getting me to the Records and back, but I can count on the Prayer.

The meditation is the preparation, tilling the soil before we throw the seeds in. It is the preparation. But you don’t have to do that meditation to get into the Records. You can if you like it, and if it works for you, use it. If is distracting, don’t do it. We do the meditation in classes, too, to get a little distance from the everydayness of our lives. We leave the stuff outside of the room, and we start to bring ourselves together to become aware of the spiritual sources of support that will enable us to go into the Records.

The meditation is like a general tonic, where the Prayer, itself, is very specific. Go here. Follow the directions, and it will get you to this place, and it will get you back, consciously, deliberately, and responsibly.

Interestingly, when you use the Prayer, two things happen. It puts you, the practitioner, in a place where you can receive, where you can register the information. It makes you more sensitive to everything. Then, with this system, we call up one set of Records at a time. If you are reading my Records, you are going to call my Records up, and those are the only Records you are going to open.

The guided meditation is different than most meditations you will do, because it is specific. It was born out of my work in the Akashic Records.

Follow-up:
I sit, I close my eyes, and hold my hands out like a meditation, and I do definitely get a feeling through my whole body, doing this. I just wait and things come to me, as opposed to questions that I might ask. Am I all wet? Or am I okay?

Linda:
You are doing fine. You want to keep going. You just want to stay with it. You bring up an interesting question, because there is something about being a beginner, where you have to give yourself a chance to find your way. Give yourself a chance to find your way.

Sometimes you go into the Records and you have questions, and it is very engaging, and other times, it seems like you are not really getting the answers to your questions. This is not meant to be something that you do once. Think of it as an ongoing practice. Say you’ve got two or three questions. You will ask those same questions every couple of days for a month and watch what happens. See?

I think especially when you are first starting; there is the pressure of, “I have to do this. I have to write.” Then if you have a burning question that you want the answer to, that is very hard. It is hard to learn something new and at the same time try to come up with the answer you need.

Question:
Can work in the Akashic Records help me answer the ultimate question, “What is the meaning of life?”

Linda:
Everybody has a story and an experience. This incarnation is one story of the many, many, many, many, many stories. It is a sliver. It is like a page in the book of all of the lifetimes you have lived. The purpose of living all of these lifetimes is to discover the perfection of your soul, and then to discover the perfection of everybody else, and the goodness of Life.

Since we are human beings, we have a lot of nuttiness, and all different shapes and forms. We all have our little idiosyncrasies; right? So this takes a long time. The journey of the soul through time – you know, we don’t come here for three lifetimes. Anybody that can do this in three lifetimes, I want to meet that person!

The fact of the matter is that it takes us centuries, and ages, and epochs to grow into the awareness of our own goodness. And this idea is so contrary to what our religious institutions have taught, and the way our governments treat us, and the way corporations handle us, now and always. Whether it is the year 2010, or whether it is the 9th century A.D. in Western Europe, or whether it is the third century in China; we, as human beings, have been moving out of and away from the old idea that we are no good, that there is something wrong with us, or that we are inept.

Nothing has gone terribly wrong. It is very easy to know your own perfection when you do not have a body, and you do not have a mortgage, and you do not have a teenager living in your house. When you live with a teenager, you are very aware of your imperfections. Trust me on that one!

The challenge of lifetime after lifetime after lifetime is: Can we really come to know our own goodness? That is really the essence of the Akashic Records. It is a Resource for our empowerment and consciousness development.

If you want to find out why, “What is driving me?” “Why do I keep doing the same thing over and over and over?” When you cannot seem to stop; you keep attracting the same mate, even though they have different names, and they are from different parts of the country, they have different occupations, but after you have been married to them for a couple of years, you realize that it is always the same person! Or you may keep getting the same job over and over.

The Akashic Record is an infinite spiritual resource available to us to explore. Ask the Records, “What’s up? What is driving me?”

The Records are governed by three principles: Fear Not, Resist Not, and Judge Not. The energy of these three principles working together makes the Records very safe, very powerful, very rich, and as far as I can tell, it is an ideal place within which you can do your inner work.

Question:
I’ve been working with your book for a while. When I’m receiving the information, it seems very natural, but when I read over my notes later, I’m like, “Oh, wow! I never would have thought of that! I wonder if that is the Akashic Records.” Since I am a beginner, maybe I was putting too much stock in it, but I had an important question to ask about work. I thought that I was up for a promotion, but it turned out that actually I was up for a lay-off, and the Records never told me that. The Records told me that potentially, I did have a chance at the position. So now I’m thinking, “I’m doing the Records wrong. I should just stick with my normal yoga meditation, and that should be my spiritual life, and I shouldn’t be diverting myself.”

Linda:
As I say in the book, it really is not your best resource for divination. It is not. It is about who you are becoming behind the scenes.

The idea of the Records is not that we are going to get this system, and we are going to beat the game. The idea is not that we are going to get the energy, and I’m going to be able to make things happen. That is magic; that is not spirituality. That is magic. Within the Records there is a dimension that is called The Mystery of Life--things will happen that make no sense. Things will happen, and we will be taken by surprise. That we are surprised is part of the lesson.

It may well be that this is to let you know that the Akashic Records are not a fortune teller. That is not to say that you won’t get guidance. You get a lot of guidance. You get tons of insight, and almost like foreshadowing in a novel, but there are no absolutes.

You have now learned very early on in your relationship with the Records that this is not a pendulum. This is not a clairvoyant. This is not a dowsing rod. This is something else, entirely. I know that the next time you are in your Records and you are like, “I have to know this!” You will think: “Wait a second. That is not the most powerful question I could ask. This is not the best use of the Records.” The best use of the Records might be something like, “Wow, looks like there are changes at work. What do I need to know to be able to navigate this? How can I be my best? Is there another direction for me to look?”

Another component involved here is free will. There is our free will, and there is the free will of other people. There is always a wild card in the Records. In terms of getting guidance, sit down and ask, “I’ve been laid off. What is the best use of this time? Is there something for me to know? Who can I become? How can I have faith in anything at this most difficult time, when I feel like I have been side-swiped? How do I do that? How do I connect with the strength that is within me? How do I connect with any kind of Divine reality when my feelings are hurt? How do I trust?”

See, there is a whole exploration emerging from here: “What is the best use of my resources and who I am in the work world?” To begin to explore that, I believe that would be helpful. I know as a person that it is really hard when you lose your job. It is awful; especially when you do not see it coming. The Universe is a good place, and everything that happens is part of a conspiracy of Life trying to get us to go deep within and to find our own goodness.

It is easier to see our own goodness when everything is going our way. But when the bottom falls out, it is like, wait a second! You really have a challenge there, and I would take that challenge to the Records. Say, “Hey, guys, help me out here!” This is not fragile. You are not going to offend the gods. This is not ancient Greece. We don’t have to worry. You can say, “Hey, listen. Help me! Or if you are not going to help me that way, how can you help me with this? Here I am in my life, what am I going to do now?”

Follow-Up:
When is a question too small or minute for the Records?

Linda:
You get up in the morning, and you think, “What should I wear?” Well, wear whatever you like! The Records are not going to tell us do this or do that.

Instead, working in the Records can help us find out what would really be the desire of our heart? Roll up your sleeves, get in there, and make your notes. It is very important that you make your notes, because when you are in the Records, it all seems so clear. We’re like, “Oh, anybody would know that!” But then what happens is that we get away from the Records, and a few days later, we see the profundity of it. A few days later I read my notebook, and I think, “Wow, that’s really good! I never would have thought of that!” Track it, and as long as you are not in an emergency like, “Tell me what to do!,” you will be fine.

If you go in there in that frame of mind, the Records will be like, “Calm down. Calm down.” That’s what they say to me all of the time, “First take a deep breath. Now we are going to look at this.” I don’t care what the spiritual resource is, we can have an insight or a glimpse of a great Truth, and that takes a second or less, and then the great opportunity is to grow into that idea. On the Earth plane, it is very slow. It is one foot in front of the other; one phone call after another; one meal after another. It is one thing at a time, and then what happens is that we wake up one day, and sure enough, our lives have been transformed in a way that is perfect for us. What is perfect for you is going to be a little different than what is perfect for me, or for anybody else.

Question:
I believe in the Akashic Record, I truly do. But when it comes to finding a clairvoyant or someone who can give us information that is separate from the Records, how do you know who is real? How do you know who is really at a high level that can tell you what is important? How do you know when you are receiving the time and the date, if someone is giving you real information?

Linda:
Oh, honey, this is such a smart question! Here is what you do. You sit down with yourself, and you ask, “Who do I trust? Is this person believable? Or are they full of it?”

My rule of thumb is that I never take advice from anyone crazier than I am. I don’t want weight loss advice from someone who is 100 pounds overweight. I don’t want quitting smoking advice from someone who doesn’t smoke. I don’t want marriage advice from somebody who has never been married. Do you see what I mean? Part of it is that you want to use your head. And it is interesting that we have this fascination with people who are “spiritual,” we expect less of them as people. If you are going to somebody, and you want to know the date, time, and place, you want to find out something about this person. You have every right to get the scoop.

Go by word of mouth. See who your friends like. This person is good; this person is not so good. Then you look them up on the internet. If you look at their picture, and it scares you, don’t call them! If you look at their website, and you don’t understand it, I call that a sign! If somebody’s website is so esoteric -- you’ve got a family, you’ve got in-laws, you want somebody who is living this life. Ask yourself, “Would I have coffee with that person?”

Permanence of the Records, Multiple Readings, and Family Dynamics

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
Is it possible to for a person to change the contents of the Akashic Records by working in them?

Linda:
People often say things like, “I went into the Records, and I wiped someone out” or “I wiped out some of my lifetimes.” That is not possible. Everything that has ever been is always being. All of Life is held within the Records. It is the Record. It is the Archive. It is a repository. It is really like a Treasury, as I have come to know it.

That is what the Record is. What is distinct about this point in history -- here we are in 2010, and we are barreling towards 2012 -- what we are faced with right now is that this is the first time in human history where we are being given a chance to consciously and deliberately and individually have a conscious relationship with our own soul and a more conscious relationship with the Divine.

This has always been available to humanity, but mainly to mystics, and scholars, and saints – not to regular people like us. We are not in monasteries. We have jobs, we have families, we have dogs, we have mortgages, we have lives. The great challenge and the great opportunity of our time is to be aware of our spiritual nature while we live a human life. It is very exciting that we are living in this time.

Question:
I have read your book and I have listened to your tapes, and I know that for the first 30 days we can offer to read other people’s Records. I wonder about reading relatives’ Records.

Linda:
You are a brave soul. Is it possible? Absolutely. Let me tell you something about my relatives. My relatives do not want me to read their records. Most of our relatives are like, “This thing that you are doing, I don’t know what it is. I’m glad it makes you feel happy, but leave me alone.” That is how it is.

That said, for the most part, do our spouses want us to read their Records? NO! That’s rare. I’m not saying it never happens. It happens once in a while. There is a tremendous responsibility with this. We have to be careful.

The purpose of the Records is to honor and dignify others and ourselves. It is really about dignity. What can happen if it is your spouse or a relative, we could easily get into this, “I have read your Records, so I now have some power over you.” We have to be very careful.

We want to be very respectful, always, of the people that we are dealing with. I have a lot of sisters and I can offer them readings. But do they want readings? No. They really don’t want that from me. They want me to be their sister.

The other piece of this, though, is that there are times with our families and with our friends when things happen that are devastating and baffling; things that absolutely make no sense. At those times we can certainly offer. The Records are here to help us to gain clarity and comprehension and to get some perspective on why sometimes ridiculously awful things happen. You can always offer. It can be very helpful to offer. Say to someone, “I learned how to do this; it might be helpful.” But keep your focus on whatever the issue is.

Personally, if I was reading one of my friend’s Records, I would not explore our friendship in their Records. Part of the work in the Records is that we have very clear boundaries. This is my responsibility; that is not my responsibility; that is none of my business. So, we want to be as clear as possible. Mostly, the people we are related to and our friends usually don’t want us to do readings for them anyway, but it is always good to have it in your back pocket and to be ready if there is a problem. If someone is really having a struggle, offer. Then honor their response, whatever it is. If they say, No, or they pretend they didn’t hear you, take the hint.

Something that could be helpful, especially with people who are close, say, “I learned how to do this. If you are interested, you might want to learn, too.” What we really want to do is to be supportive and to empower one another as much as we can. Sometimes that can be very exciting. What you do is that you share this access that you have; you share it with your friends. Get the books and listen to the tapes together. That is really fun. I think one of the most fun things in life is to share the path with friends.

Obviously, you love the people in your life, and you want to be able to give to them, and this is a wonderful way to do it. Share it with them, without going into their Records, yourself, unless they ask.

If someone doesn’t want a reading, we just don’t read them. People don’t need readings. You can live many lifetimes and never have a reading of any kind. If someone does want a reading, we can give it to them.

Question:
I have a pretty vivid imagination. I always want to make sure that I work with the highest integrity. How can I make sure that what I’m getting from the Records is really what I’m getting from the Records, and not what I want to get from the Records? Do you know what I mean? I want to make sure that my ego is out of it, and that I am not guiding the information. How do I do that?

Linda:
This is wonderful that you bring this up; very helpful. This is the bottom-line challenge whether you are just learning to work in the Records, or like myself, if you have been working in the Records consciously for the last 15, 16 years. This is the deal-breaker right here.

What you want to do first of all, is that you want to check with yourself – one of the keys here is to know yourself. I know that I have answers that I like, my preferred answers to questions, and I know what they are. You want to begin noticing, what is it that you want to hear? Personally, I like magical answers. I’m going to go to sleep, and tomorrow morning I will wake up and I have lost five pounds, and I didn’t have to do anything. I love answers like that!

Part of the work in the Records is to really ask for help. In that part of the Prayer where we pray for protection: “Protect me from all forms of self-centeredness, and direct my attention to the work at hand.” That particular phrase actually shifts you into service mode, whether it is service to yourself or service to others. It is all service. We are directing our attention away from ego and all of that other stuff, and we are moving in the direction of a greater openness and surrender to our higher consciousness.

So look at “What are my preferred answers?” And be aware of what they are.

When working in the Records, and I get some guidance, there can be a sense of everything being natural and easy. And I think, “What is the big deal? This is what I would normally think.” But if I write it down, and I look at it a week later, I’m like, “That is really good! That is not what I normally come up with.” Do you see? It is a big deal, and we can see it with more accuracy with a little distance.

The other thing I think that is really important is this: Give yourself a chance. If you are just starting to work in the Records, you do not want the pressure of the big, life-changing questions like, “Do I sell the house and move to Iceland? This is my second time in the Records; I need the answer.” Don’t do that to yourself.

If you feel pressured like you are under the gun, this is going to interrupt – it won’t stop your progress, but it will slow your progress. If there is something you really need to explore, and you don’t trust your own judgment, that is when you want to get help from someone else.

On one hand, we are being called into spiritual maturity, where I am more directly reliant on the Light, and I am coming to know it on my own. That is vital. There is no way around that. On the other hand, there are times when we need other people to help us. We are very interdependent. Sometimes if the issue is really charged, it is very helpful to have someone look, as well. Do your own inner work, and if you are wondering, “Am I making this up?” Get some help. Let someone else read you.

Question:
Can we do Akashic Records readings over the phone?

Linda:
Absolutely, yes. You can do this over the phone because this is not geographically determined. You are not reading somebody’s energy field. It is not about their aura. We are looking in at the level of their soul, and it is going to be constant whether I’m in Chicago, and you are in Iowa, or if we are in the same room. Okay?

If someone says, “I have a cold, I’m upset, I can’t have a reading today,” it doesn’t matter. The client can be upset. They can have a bad hair day. They can be wearing two different shoes, and it will not mess up your reading, because that is not where we are looking. If you have been experimenting with it, you catch a glimpse that we are going into the very center point of your being, the soul, and that is truly unaffected by whether you ate too much lasagna last night; it makes no difference.

Question:
Can we be in the same room and do a reading on a third person together?

Linda:
It can be really fun and very cool if two people open another person’s Records. It is a lot of fun, and it is very illuminating. So, if there is an elephant in the room, and we are all sitting around the elephant, we are describing the same thing from different perspectives. I might be on the right shoulder, and somebody else might be on the left leg, somebody else might be at the trunk. As we work together what becomes very clear is that we are looking at the same animal from different angles. There are a lot of things that are shared, but there are some subtleties that are different. It is a remarkable experience to do that. It is a great way to learn and a great way to work together.

What I discourage is that you do not want to open two sets of Records. Don’t open both Amy’s and Sherri’s Records at the same time, because then you lose your authority. You don’t know where the answers are coming from. Are the answers coming from Amy’s Records or Sherri’s Records? We don’t know.

We open one set of Records at a time. We open Amy’s Records, and then we close them. Then we open Sherri’s Records, and then we close them. We do it in the practitioner’s certification class all the time. We may have a whole room full of people opening one person’s Records.

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I recently found your book and read it and really liked it. I am really called to move into doing this kind of work. I have tried the meditation a couple of times so far, and what I am finding is some kind of barrier within myself about allowing this to happen, and feeling like it is forbidden, like I am not supposed to go there. Consciously, that doesn’t make much sense to me, but when I try to analyze the feeling of it, I just feel like there is a block for me.

Linda:
This is very interesting, because I totally get what you are talking about. There is something within us – the culture in which we have all been raised bred it into us. We have been carrying this around for centuries, and at some level we are not allowed to have conscious access to our own souls. We have gotten this through traditional religion. This is a very popular old idea. You really are tapping into the challenge that is before us, and the challenge is to stand in the face of that and say, “No. That is an old idea. It was fine--it was appropriate in its time, but it really is a new age, and I am entitled. It is my birthright to have a conscious relationship with my own soul,” and that is what our work in the Records is all about.

What we know about blockages and resistance is that it stems from fear. We want to respect fear because we fear for a reason. For thousands of years we haven’t been able to do this kind of work, but today we can. The thing about moving beyond fear is that we cannot ram ourselves through it. We do not want to force it. What we want to do is to give ourselves a chance. Let yourself practice. I think it is brilliant on your part to seek more support, because when we work with a group, together we can do what none of us can do alone. We can go much further, much faster, with more elegance and grace.

As we come together you can feel it. There is a synergy, there is an energy of the group that is very present. Even when you are not working with the group, the group’s energy will make it easier for you to press into the energy of the Records. Give yourself a chance, get the support you need, whether it is coming to a book club meeting or coming to a class. Another option is that I have the audio set, which is the guided practices of working in the Records. That is really nice, because you can listen to it, and I talk you through it. So it is another way for you to get some support.

Follow-Up:
I have done other kinds of readings before, and you come up against those beliefs of “Oh, I can’t do this.” This one feels like it may be just what you are saying, a sort of cultural, historical, pervasive barrier that has been there in the ethers and in our collective psyches.

Linda:
Especially if you are familiar with other ways of working, when we break into a new dimension of consciousness we have to move through those protections that have kept us from that place before. It is kind of like cutting away the bush, the underbrush, because we are pressing into a new path. Now, this is a path that has always been there, but it is overgrown with old ideas.

You want to give yourself a chance, and you want to press in. However, it is not helpful to freak yourself out. Allow yourself to take one step at a time. I know absolutely that with more support it will be easier. There is no question that you will get there. It is just that the more support you have, the easier it will be.

For those of you who are very good at doing things on your own, it might be time for you to learn about being supported more, because support might be what it will take for you to get into the Records. Whatever is next on your journey will be part of the way that you get into the Records. That often happens.

Question:
I am not familiar with the Akashic Records at all, but I have been meditating and introduced into many other spiritual aspects. My question is that about a month ago I walked into this room, and it was an endless library going up. A book came out of the library, flying to me, and it opened up and this light came out, and I just heard one word, “Akashic.” That was really only the second time I’ve ever heard about Akashic. I’m just really confused. What did that mean?

Linda:
Akasha is a Sanskrit word that means “primary substance; that out of which all things are formed.” That is what we are dealing with; that is what the Record is, primary substance. It is really energy before we get to it with our thoughts and feelings.

As you tell this story, it is interesting that when it is our time, every one of us, every soul at some point in time, whether it is this lifetime or another lifetime, it doesn’t matter--at some point in time, everyone gets this call, a nudge, the urge of your soul calling you to know your own soul more than ever before. You are asking this question today as a result of an inner calling, an inner prompting. We all come into the Records as a result of the urge of our soul which says, “It is time.” This always occurs in a way that makes sense to us.

I never had the dream about the library; I never had that dream. I had different experiences that were perfect for me, but there are many people who dream about the library. It comes in the dream state because that is something that you really get. You were like, “Heads up!” You really got that. The call came, and you heard it. That is part of what is so beautiful about this, people come to this in a way that is true or real, and you do not have to have any special abilities. Some people have a lot of meditation experience, and some people have none. Some people are really very sophisticated in many of the spiritual arts and practices, and for some people, this is their first introduction to the path. It comes to us in all different ways. You are getting the call of your soul. This is it. This is real. This is the most real thing in your life right now.

Is this something that I do on my own?

Linda:
Here is what I would recommend. I have a book called How to Read the Akashic Records. It will teach you how to do this. You can read the book. I also have an audio set of the same title, and you can get that. I have many resources on my website (www.akashicstudies.com). In July, I am going to be teaching an online class where you can Skype in and we will be able to work together. It is very exciting, and I can help you through this. You can learn that way, or you can come to a live class. Part of this is for you to look at which way would be the best for you to go. What is really going to support you right now? There are a variety of ways that you can learn this.

I have been teaching the Records since 1996. I really believe that there is no substitute for good training. Will you get to be able to do this on your own? Sure. Absolutely. However, 2012 is coming. Life is speeding up. You can feel it. Good training can make a world of difference in terms of how quickly you can learn this, and your success and your mastery will be accelerated if you allow yourself to get training.

Question:
I got your book in Sedona a year ago, and it popped up at me. For some reason I just haven’t jumped into it, and I want to. I keep being drawn and drawn and drawn. I thought it was interesting that you said that the way you learn is part of how you get into the Records. I have been feeling like I am missing it, and I just went to Sedona again last week, one year later. It feels like I am ready now, I feel called, it feels perfect, and my life has cleared a whole bunch of stuff out.

Linda:
I know we spoke last year, and it is so interesting that this has come to you, and you want to notice the persistence. Isn’t that amazing? It’s like, “Oh, it is still here.” And you have a very rich, full life, and yet in the background it is like it keeps knocking at the door. I have a friend who says, “When the Spirit knocks, I answer.” Maybe it is time for you to take the next step, and there are a variety of ways to go. Part of the journey is to find what supports you. For many people, it is really plenty to work with the book. It works!

For other people, it is really much better if they are in a class. There are so many different ways, and how you approach this is really where choice comes in. In some ways, we have no choice. At some point, we will all be presented with the opportunity to have a more conscious relationship with our soul. That is part of the imperative of every human being at some point, whether it is this lifetime, next lifetime, five lifetimes from now; it doesn’t matter. We will all have that phase of time. Where we do have choice is in how we proceed: “Do I want to try going it alone?” “Do I want to use the help of a group?” “Do I want to use a teacher?” “How do I want to do this?” Those are the choices that each and every one of us must make for ourselves. We experiment. We may go it alone and find that doesn’t work. We go to a group, and we may find that is not our favorite. Or we find out what is. We find out what doesn’t work, and we find out what does work. Wherever you are in your process, give yourself the consideration that you deserve. First of all, you are fully entitled; it is your birthright to have a more conscious relationship with your own soul.

People who are here on the planet at this time of great spiritual revolution, we have come collectively to enjoy the opportunity of the expansion of our awareness. That is really why we are all here together.

Look and see what has been working for you, and look to see what has not been working, and allow yourself to take the next step. I am very excited about being able to offer this as an online class, because you can do this in your own home, and we will have a virtual group. You will be able to work with other people on the Facebook group, and then you will have the recording to work with. There is no airfare involved, which at this point is a big deal. That would be a wonderful way to go. There are many different ways to approach this. You look inside, you ask for guidance, and you do your best. Know that whatever is going on that we are all being led. We know that you are being led because you have not been bumped off of the path. We all go through this in our own way.

The thing I really want to leave with you is this: If you are becoming aware of this spiritual resource known as the Akashic Record, it is because there is something within you nudging you to take your next step, to know yourself, to know your own soul more than ever before, to actually explore the richness of this spiritual resource. Allow yourself to do this and to get your questions answered and to take appropriate action in a way that is supportive and respectful of who you are and what works for you.

What Are Akashic Record Consultations?

Linda:
Consultations, or Readings, are transformational life guidance. Important challenges in your life can be addressed and resolved. During a Consultation, you will explore significant relationship issues from the perspective of your soul, know the truth about you and your soul mates. You will be able to clarify the connection between your career path and your contribution to the world and see how your gifts, talents, and abilities are best used in your work. Also, your health is a key part of your soul’s journey. Find peace and harmony with yourself no matter what difficulties you face.

Follow-up:
Would it be useful to get my own Records read by someone, even if I open and read my own Records?

Linda:
I have been doing Akashic Records Readings for people since 1994. I have done Readings for certified Akashic Records practitioners, Akashic RecordsTeachers, and leaders in every spiritual tradition. I hear from nearly every person that the Reading is beneficial because it helps affirm their own work.

Recognizing and dealing with ordinary human challenges are the path to higher consciousness. We are all human, and we all have creeping doubts whether the information we get in our own Records might be "wishful thinking" or biased in some way. The Reading is a sharing of the Energy of the Records, and the spirit of Light and Truth will be available to uplift you and illuminate your journey.

Question:
I have had the Akashic Records opened for me before, but it sure didn’t seem like I did, compared to what you talked about in your book. Something spoke to me from your book, and I would really like to go to your training. I’m just concerned for myself whether I would really be able to get it. For example, I’ve always had trouble meditating.

Linda:
I love this question. I’ll tell you what I love about it: I understand. There’s that fear that I will be the one exception to the rule. Everybody else will be able to get in except me. Here’s the truth of the matter. People come to the Akashic Records -- like you -- as a result of inner prompting. Now the book may certainly have fallen on your head in the bookstore (I get a lot of calls about that) but you wouldn’t even be aware of this unless it was your time.

Yes, you will be able to access the Records; otherwise, you wouldn’t want to do this. People who can’t get it don’t come to the class.

Work in the Akashic Records has some similar benefits that meditation has, but for this, you do not have to be able to meditate. Meditation is really hard. I think this is much easier, because what we are doing is that we are getting into an alignment with your own soul. This is the Record of your soul. We use the sacred prayer, the Pathway Prayer, to help you bump over into this space where you can receive. It is not about quieting the mind.

The Records will meet you at your level. You don’t have to be able to meditate, you don’t have to be psychic, for sure. You don’t have to be able to read auras or energy or any of that, because it is not about that. It is about a more conscious relationship with your own soul.

Follow-up:
What kind of advance knowledge, experience, or training does someone need to have before taking a Beginning Class?

Linda:
What is really important is that when you come to a class, like the Practitioner Certification, you will be a beginner. Being a beginner is a great place to be, and it is a place in consciousness. If you come to the beginning class, you are not going to walk out with 15 years of experience, but the gate will be open for you. I think that if you have concerns, the class is a great way to go because in a class there are a couple of things happening. One is that you have the power of the group that can really help move you along. If there is a group of 30 or 40 of us headed in the same direction, that is going to make it easier for you. You will have the support of the group.

Here’s what I know: There are some people who get it immediately, and there are some who take a little time. This is why we do the class in a day-and-a-half. It is a day-and-a-half for a reason, because not everybody gets it in the first 15 minutes. There is a progression. There is a series of exercises that we work through in our own Records. We work in the Records of others. These exercises will enable you to move into that dimension of consciousness. That’s the way it works.

Because of the focus of the class, it is intense, and not in a bad way, but there is a power there. There is an energy in the class that allows you to get in the Records much more easily, much more quickly than if you were to work with the book and CDs. You can work with just the book and CDs and get in, but if you come to a class, it is really faster. It is really efficient, and it is designed to be that way.

Question:
When I open my own Records, and I do that sometimes just to go for comfort and reassurance, sometimes I leave them open for hours at a time and go about my business. Is that a bad idea?

Linda:
No, it is not a bad idea. Is it the best idea? Probably not, and let me tell you why. Now you know, because you are using the Records, it can be very potent, and the energy of the Records can amplify things. It can be sometimes startling. What can happen, if I open my Records and I go out and do my thing, it is not helpful because I have one foot in this slightly-altered state and I have the other foot in my ordinary reality. What happens is that both states are a little bit diluted. The work of the Records is to support us, to enable us to discover our own internal resources, and the spiritual support and backing that we have to be very effective in our lives. That really requires us to be as present as possible.

If you have the Records open and you are driving the car, you are not fully present to the Records, and you are not fully present to your driving.

The purpose of the Records on the planet at this time is to be a spiritual resource for us. It is like to go and get the tank full, and then go drive. As practitioners, as Lightworkers, as people who are awakening, we want to be very clear. Like, right now, I am in an ordinary state of consciousness and maybe later I am in the Records. We always want to know where we are, and we want to be appropriate. It is kind of Taoist. We want to be appropriate to whatever our needs are and whatever our situations require.

I think what is appropriate is this: Open your Records in the morning, ask for the partnership of your Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones, and ask for any guidance for the day, anything that would be helpful. Take whatever guidance you get and then close the Records and go live your life. What I have seen is that as we can then apply the guidance that is given, and we get more.

This is a very interesting issue that you bring up. I know that in a lot of other systems they say things like, “Do the chant, and then go out into the world and do both at the same time.” It is just not the best use of the Records, but it is not bad.

The thing is, if you forget to close the Records, they will close by themselves anyway after a while. You can feel it. There’s just a sense of being a little bit off. It is not helpful to open your Records and go to sleep in the hope of having really powerful dreams. It actually doesn’t do that. It doesn’t help. Your dream state is actually better than adequate on its own. It doesn’t need the energy of the Records to be valuable.

Through trial and error we find out what works and what doesn’t work. It is great that you are engaged.

Question:
I wonder if our interactions with the animal souls we encounter are recorded in the Records? Is there a way to access their higher souls and angels, particularly with regard to healing?

Linda:
The Records are a wonderful way to work with animals, if indeed, that is what you are called to do. Personally, I am not very good working with animals. I know how, but it is not my strength.

The main thing to keep in mind is to always work with permission. When you open the Records of the animal, you are working with the soul of the animal. The Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones are different from the guides and angels of that animal. Akashic Records work with animals is wonderful for diagnostics, like if you want to find out why your cat is sick, or why this horse cannot absorb the medicine. There are a million things that happen with animals, and you can open their Records and find out.

But you don’t open the Records of an animal without the permission of the animal and without the permission of the owner. You would not open the Records of a strange animal, especially if you are seriously working to get to the root of the problem.

Also, what we find within our own Records is that we do have connections with animals. That animal is in our life for a reason: to help us. A lot of that information is in our own Records. So, if you have a relationship with a particular animal, open your own Records first and ask, “What is the purpose of my relationship with Fluffy?” Whatever you need will be revealed. Then you can close your own Records and open Fluffy’s Records. We want to be realistic. When we open the Records of animals, it is a little different than humans.

Question:
So we have our soul, and this question is coming up because one time quite a few years ago I was in a soul retrieval hypnosis session, and my voice came through like in a different-sounding way that was my soul. Sometimes when I’m in the Records and I’m speaking out loud what I’m getting and writing it down, I hear that voice – I hear my voice sounding like that voice that I connect with being my soul. Can you speak to that in relationship to the Lords of the Records, the Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones, and our own soul in relation to that dynamic?

Linda:
The Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones are supportive. You want to think of them in terms of a support structure. Collectively they hold the space. They are a bridge of Light consciousness that enable us to move into a more direct and more conscious relationship with our soul. Their work, while it is true that we get guidance and direction from them, their work is ultimately to enable us to have direct, conscious contact with our own soul. It sounds like there are times when the distance between you and your soul, between your innermost soul and your expression in the world, it sounds like the distance collapses, and you are in a state of direct impression and direct expression.

You are doing a great job. We talk about the Light of the soul, but there really is the sound of the soul. Since the late 1960s in the Western culture, there has been a collective movement to open up to the Light of the soul, and now a new dimension of exploration is the Sound of the soul, and this is very exciting. This is where we see things like chanting.

In saying the sacred prayer – we use the Pathway Prayer Process. In saying the sacred prayer, there is a rhythm. It is like a mantra. What happens is that through sound it supports our consciousness in moving. In the Records themselves, we know that energy moves on the spoken word. When we are in the Records, it is really powered up as we speak, and as we put formed words to what we perceive, it actually enables energy to move. Very, very exciting.

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
When you first open the Records and you say thanks to the Teachers and guides that are with me, I’m wondering what role angels or spirit guides have in the Records.

Linda:
That is a great question. Here’s how this works: Angels and spirit guides are wonderful. I love them. We all love them. How could we not? But here is the big distinction. They are within the celestial realms. They are in the realm, but they are not specific to the Record for this reason: Angels and spirit guides are known by personality identities. Angels have names. We have archangels and angels have different roles and responsibilities, but they have personalities. They have individual identities and personalities, as do spirit guides. I certainly have them myself.

You have a certain spirit guide from a certain time and place, usually a representative of an indigenous tribe somewhere on the planet with a very particular personality and style. These things are wonderful, but within the Akashic Record, the Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones, those unseen helpers who are working on our behalf, are not known by their personalities. They do not come forward and say, “Hello, I’m your Teacher. I’m Harry the Teacher.” The Akashic Record is where we leave the personality, which is all bound in ego, we leave that at the gate, and we move into the realm where we work with the energy of Love and Compassion. Energy first, and information second. It is really about the transmission. It is not about interacting with a particular guide or angel.

The Akasha is the primary substance of Life. We are working with the essential energy of the soul. The Akashic Record is a soul-level dimension of consciousness, which contains the vibrational Record of who you are as a soul throughout time. So that is what the Record is. From a Records point of view, personalities are distracting. I am not saying that they are not helpful. They are absolutely helpful, but in the Records we are learning to rely on the energy itself, the primary substance itself, and to work with that to cultivate the best of our human faculties through our relationship with the Records.

Question:
I know clearly that Spirit is talking to me, and I am talking to Spirit in many, many different ways. I have your CDs, and I have been listening to them on a CD player. However, I am still not getting specific visions or colors or words. It does not feel like I am in the Records, although I know I am being led, and it has been a few months now. Can you shed some light on why that possibly would be? I am working mostly with your CDs, but I refer to the book frequently.

Linda:
This is interesting because you have a lot of experience with direct impression and a lot of experience with ongoing communication with the spirit realm. What I have seen often is that this situation is not that unusual. It sounds like you are being brought into the Records through the energy rather than through the information dimension. That is sometimes what happens when people are very skilled in other practices, other systems and methods. There is a period of time where you can just open the Records and kind of sit in the Records and get used to it. Because the work of the Records is energy first, information second. So often it happens that people are given almost like a period of initiation, where it’s like, “Oh, just sit here and be in the energy and get used to it, because it is different.”

It is different, and it is the same. If you are attracted to it, chances are that you are familiar with it. Chances are that you have worked in the Records in other lifetimes, and you have certainly bumped into it in this lifetime.

If you are not getting anything, it can be an attunement phase, or it may be that you need to work with a group. Especially with people like you, you can do a lot on your own, but sometimes when people come together and work in the Records together, it gets a little amplified or intensified.

Perhaps the next phase of learning for you is in receiving more support. It is important to get more support, because support can make a world of difference. Even if it doesn’t seem like a big deal. It might just be a one-time thing, but ongoing support or some exposure to support from other human beings, who are engaged in a similar process, headed in the same direction, can make a world of difference.

Finally, I would encourage you to get into the book and just ask some questions. Open your Records, and answer the questions. “What is going on with this relationship?” “What’s up with my health?” It doesn’t matter, just anything in your life that is important to you in the present. Do that and write the answers down. Don’t worry if you’re in the Records, or if you’re not; “Where is this from?” “What does this mean?” Don’t evaluate, just write it down. Do this every day for about 10 days. Just ask some questions, write the answers down, close your notebook, close your Records, and go about your business. After about 10 days, go back to your notebook and look at what you’ve written.

I’ve been working with the Records for a long time, and sometimes I receive information, and I think, “What’s the big deal?” When we are in the Records, the answers are like, “But of course! That is the most obvious insight in the world.” Things seem very natural; it is not very sensational. But when I look back at what I wrote a week or two later, I think, “My God! That is really great! That is so helpful. I never would have thought about that on my own.”

So what you want to do is to allow yourself to do some writing in the Records without evaluation, without pressure on performance.

Question:
I do some pretty profound work now with the angels, and when I come into the Records – I want to know what I am supposed to be getting. I know, I’m supposed to be getting whatever it is that I get. So I am going to do exactly what you said, because I haven’t done that yet. Write down every day and just sit down and make that my practice. I have not done that, even though you wrote about it in your book. Will I be able to get what they call a past life regression? Is that part of the Akashic Records?

Linda:
This is great. I want to talk about a couple of things. So you have a real strong angel practice. You’ve been traveling on Highway 80, and you know your way around, and you are very familiar with Highway 80. Now you are on a different highway, and I am going to ask you to drive on Highway 30, and it’s not that far from 80, and there are some points where the roads intersect. The truth is, they are different roads. Give yourself a chance, especially if you are very good with these angels. You are terrific with that. Let yourself drive on a different road.

This is spiritual hardball. You have to allow yourself to not know what you are doing. If you have had mastery with another method, that is very challenging, and it is antagonistic to human nature. Let yourself be a beginner. That will make a world of difference for you.

You also want to know what you are supposed to get. I know that is like the $50 million question! First of all in the Records it is energy first and information second. The Records are governed by the Three Absolutes: Fear Not, Resist Not, and Judge Not. So it makes for a very safe and loving and also encouraging environment. In this Akashic atmosphere, really, you can do no wrong. So allow yourself to move into the state where you just get the vibe. That’s the first thing. After that, what you need will be revealed to you.

Now, this can be revealed to you in a few different ways. When we speak about how we get things in the Records, we use very visual words. “I see this; I see that.” You may never see a thing! You may never hear a thing! Some people see, and they have very strong images. Some people are audial, and they hear. They really hear things. Most of us, like 85%, have what we call a sense of knowing. You are in this slightly-altered state, and it is almost like it is within you. It is almost like if you have one of those kaleidoscope toys, and you tilt it a little. “Oh, I didn’t know there was red in there!” You tend to see things from a different angle and a different perspective. What shifts is your perception and your awareness.

There is often supportive information that comes to you, but it is not like you go into the Records, and someone is falling down from the Heavens with a list. “Do this; do that! No, no, no.” It is from within you.

The energy of the Record interfaces at the eighth chakra, comes down through the crown, in through the heart, and your whole heart zone is very engaged using this Pathway Prayer Process. In that engagement, it is like, “Oh, I see. I get it.”

Now, finally, regarding past lives, I love them! I do! They are great. It is immensely helpful to have past life awareness, when it is helpful. Here’s the first thing to know: In the Akashic Records, everything is there: Past, Present, and Future. It is all there, but the truth of the matter is that you don’t need to know ALL today. This is not entertainment, even though it can be tons of fun. It is not for entertainment. What I have seen in my practice, and in working with others, is that past lives are revealed as they are beneficial to a problem that you are facing right now.

If I go in and say, “What is up with this situation? What is up with my teenage son? The great spiritual opportunity! How do I parent this young man? What is the real source of the problem?” Sometimes the problems we face today started a long, long time ago. That is the opportunity. The Records will reveal that the reason I am having this difficulty in the present is because of something that happened 1,000 years ago on the other side of the globe. That is how past lives are revealed. You don’t get the whole story, unless it is useful. I don’t need to know the story of the whole lifetime; I just need the piece that is the root of the difficulty now.

So when we are solving problems, we want to ask, “What is the exact nature of the problem? Where did this start? What is the point of origin?” When we ask those questions, past lives are revealed.

Question:
I would like to ask you about animal communication. I actually had an occasion to talk to some animals, which I didn’t even believe. I didn’t say anything about it, because I didn’t believe it. I knew a dog at someone’s house was peeing on the carpet, and I didn’t say anything because I didn’t believe that I was hearing the dog. So, 15 minutes later, the woman gets up and she’s gone for awhile. When she comes back, I asked her, “Did your dog just pee on the carpet?” And she said, “Yes.” I said, “I’m so sorry. I actually heard him tell me that about 20 minutes ago, and I didn’t say anything, because I didn’t believe that he was talking to me.” I have gotten many things like that which are encouraging me and telling me that I’m doing the right thing, but I thought that I would be doing readings by now. I will follow your suggestions.

Linda:
When we come to the Records, our next area of growth is usually brought to our attention or illuminated. In order to get there, sometimes there is a phase that can be a little baffling or confusing, and we say, “What is this? I’m always so good at things like this.” But it can be like, “Wait. You are learning to be still with the energy. You are learning to go deeper. You are learning to follow, as opposed to leading.”

The work of the Records, and what I absolutely love about it, the Prayer says, “Direct my attention to the work at hand…” as we surrender to it, the Light takes the lead, and we learn to be followers in the best sense of the word: followers of the Light. And when we do that, the path opens up in all kinds of amazing ways that we could never engineer on our own.

Particularly for those of us who are strong-willed, whether it is at the beginning of your relationship with the Records, or after you have been in for awhile where it’s kind of like it slows down. The work of the Records is really to be still, to get used to it, to quiet yourself, and to let yourself be lead to a deeper place. It sounds like you are getting just enough validation to keep you going, which is good. They will give you the validation in order for you to keep going.

Question:
I am new to this, but I was led to your book, and when I was reading it I received a healing even without opening the Records yet. You spoke about doing readings for others. I have just been doing readings for myself, and I just got a feeling from reading the book that I would be doing this. So, do I wait the first 30 days and then start reading for others the next 30 days?

Linda:
In the very beginning you have some extra grace. It is an extra grace period, and in that period, you can invite people to have readings. Let’s say I saw you at the grocery store, and I say, “I just started working in the Akashic Records. Could I do a reading on you? I would like to practice.” So be honest about your level of experience. People are going to know anyway, and then you do not have any pressure on you.

The other thing is, people can say yes or no. Whatever they say is fine. You never want to do a reading on someone who does not want a reading. That’s like getting a root canal with no Novocain; it’s terrible.

After a period of time, usually around 30 days, you want to shift your relationship with the readings. I know that some people charge money, and if you want to do that, check with your Records to see what amount is appropriate. Then you just say to people, “I do these readings, and if you would like one, here’s my card. Just let me know.” It is very subtle. It is the difference between letting people know that you are available, or in a very enthusiastic way saying, “Please, can I do a reading for you?” “Please can I do a reading for you?” is very different from, “If you would like a reading, please give me a call.” See?

When you are ready, you can just start telling people, “Hey, I do this. If you would like a reading, I can open your Records.” Okay? You are being led, and what is great in your situation is that you are aware that you are being led. There is a certain group of us which has been called to do this work at this time. The call is coming to us in different ways, but we are very connected in this. When it is time for you, if you want to read other people, you can. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to. When it is time, what will happen is that you will find that it will not be hard. You can just say to people, “Hi, I would be happy to do a reading for you; if you want one, just let me know.” People will call you, or they will ask you.

Follow-up:
Basically, one of the things as far as the nudge towards this was that I wanted something where I would be able to help myself from within, and be able to help other people from within, and also what you are doing, teaching other people, so that they can help themselves from within. Part of the point that you made in the book as far as that is that we are all in this together, but we should be able to do it on our own and increase our own consciousness. So that was very, very vital to me, and I think that is why the book literally called to me, and I bought it, and here I am.

Linda:

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I just wonder if you would comment on the different kinds of readings that people are used to. I personally have a lot of experience in doing clairvoyant readings, and when I open the Akashic Records, I don’t feel like I have to clear anything when I’m done, no matter how difficult the people or their issues.

Linda:
What happens when you use the Pathway Prayer Process, is the Prayer itself is your protection. Even though somebody might be upset – we’re people, we get upset. But what happens is that as the reader, you will not take it on. The Prayer is absolutely a protection, but it is not like a shield that is pushing things away. Instead, it is like a wall of Light, through which distress and emotional upset gets transmuted so that you can read somebody and never take their stuff on. So you can do a lot of readings for a lot of people who are upset, and it is not contagious. You can read people who are really having terrible difficulties and suffering and pain. You will feel for them in the way of having compassion and understanding of their difficulty, but you will not catch it.

Follow Up:
That is so wonderful, because I’ll tell you, I would never do a clairvoyant reading for some of the people who come for Akashic Records readings. There are like multiple things going on with people right now, and it would be overwhelming. I don’t feel overwhelmed at all. I feel energized.

Linda:
Right. What happens in this is that we are energized. We are really nurtured by the reading, and that is kind of funny for anybody who has done clairvoyant readings. Usually, we are used to our clairvoyants being so exhausted. You know, they do a reading or two and they have to go float in a tank or something because it is so overwhelming. This is radically different. That is wonderful.

Question:
When we do readings on friends, relatives, children that are over 18, is there ever a feeling that you are kind of too much into their privacy?

Linda:
On one hand, once you know how to read the Records, we want to be available to the people that we love; our friends, our relatives, anybody that we can help, anybody that we can assist, we like to do that. Actually, the Prayer itself, again, enables you to maintain your energetic boundaries so that you are not all caught up in their stuff, and you don’t set up all of that weirdness. It is very safe; it is very effective. But that said, sometimes it is really hard to read people we know. So with each case, I think it is a good idea for you to check in your Records and find out, Is it good for me to read this person? Can I help them? Is this going to be valuable? Follow your guidance; it will be very clear. When in doubt, just don’t do it. I don’t know means “No,” but usually you will be fine. In the Records, we are dealing with the soul. Who am I? Who are other people, from the point of view of the soul.

Question:
One of the reasons that I am starting to delve into the Records, is that I am very claustrophobic, and I am really bothered by this. What I’m hoping is that I will be able to figure this out. If I find out where this comes from, will I be cured? Or will it be better? Because it is causing me to have panic attacks.

Linda:
It sounds terrible. I’m sorry. It just sounds very stressful. This is a wonderful question, because we all want to know, “If I work in the Records, will I solve this problem?” Listen, I make no guarantees, because I don’t know. I don’t know if you will learn how to read the Records, and then the next day you won’t have claustrophobia anymore. But what I do know is this: I know that working in the Records you can actually discover how this problem started; the point of origin. And then you can really work with it.

Everything you have, even claustrophobia, at some level, somewhere in some lifetime, this was a good thing. Okay? I don’t know why. I don’t have the details, but any difficulty that we have today often at another time and another place, it was a good thing for us. So what we start to see is that we change our relationship with our difficulties. When we change that relationship and we stop trying to push our difficulties away; stop trying to get rid of them. I’m not saying that we like them, but when we really see how our difficulties have been really supporting us in some way, what happens is that for many people they dissolve.

Will the claustrophobia go away? I don’t know. What I do know is that your relationship to the difficulty can be transformed by working in the Records, and often things that we know as problems go away. This is a matter of empowerment, and working in the Records is about personal empowerment. When you are committed to exploring this and applying what you learn, one of two things will happen. One is that the problem will go away, and the other is that you will find a way not to suffer about it. One of these two things will happen. The bottom line is, you will feel better.

Question:
If I’m getting a reading from someone else, and then I open my own Records for myself, can I ask the same question?

Linda:
Sure. There is a place for us to go and get readings from other people. It is sometimes appropriate for us to do readings for others. What is really very rich is when we can work in our own Records, it is different, and then it is much more of an exploration. I’m going to look and see what is going on, and I’m going to see what I can do to change this. That is very exciting. It is a very exciting part of the work in the Records, which is actually why I wrote the book and why I teach classes. I teach people this is your soul; you are absolutely entitled to have a conscious relationship with your soul. That is what the work is. I think this will be very exciting for you to be working in your Records and to see where that takes you.

Question:
I went into the Records the other day, and was asking a simple question, but once I was there, it felt so good that I kind of forgot all about the question. I don’t know if that has ever happened to anybody. Do you know what I mean?

Linda: (Laughing.)
That does happen. This is really cool. I have that all of the time. It does not mean that the Records dismiss or minimize our mortal, human challenges. They don’t. But the Record is primary substance, and it is governed by the principles of Fear Not, Judge Not, and Resist Not. So it is very kind and respectful. It is very loving, but it is not like mushy and sentimental. It is very powerful and clarifying.

It’s not that sloppy, sentimental love. When we have the experience of that Light, that Love, that Power, our difficulties suddenly pale. This does not mean that we are being ignored or disrespected or dismissed. What it does mean is that we have this experience, and once we have touched our own soul, we have had that recognition. It is not an idea; it is an experience. Once we have had that experience, we can go and handle our stuff, do what we need to do, and somehow within us that reservoir of infinite power gets tapped, and it is much easier to be in this life. Sometimes it is like, “Oh, what is it that I was so worried about?” Because when we have the experience of being loved and cared for, a lot of this stuff doesn’t seem that bad. It’s like, “Well, wait a minute. What was I so upset about?” I have that all the time.

Question:
When we imagine or have ourselves in the Pillar of Light, when we are doing a reading for someone, do we have them in the same Pillar of Light as we ourselves are in?

Linda:
The Pillar of Light Meditation from my book is to help you to center into the Truth, and to get a feel for the Truth. It is very supportive. You know this if you have worked with it. It makes you feel very strong and centered in the Light. Now, when you do a reading for somebody else, you do not have to do that. The Prayer itself will keep you strong. If you would like to use that meditation, go right ahead, but you do not have to use it. Sometimes it is really nice to meditate with people, but you don’t have to in order to get into the Records. Just using the Prayer will get you there. I love that meditation. My own preference is that I like to do my own meditation privately, and then when I’m working with another person, just to work in the Records.

Question:
Sometimes when I’m in the Records I think I could have asked that question a little better and perhaps have gotten a more effective answer.
Linda:
If you are in the Record, and you are wondering if you are asking the right question, what you can do is just pause and ask the question that is on your mind. Don’t worry if it is not perfect; that is okay. Just play with it a little; kick it around a little. Maybe this is right, maybe that is right. Just bring it to them. The thing is, in the Records, they know the concerns of your heart. That is not a secret in the Records. You could say everything half backwards and it won’t matter; you will still get what is good for you.

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I do intuitive readings and some coaching, and I wanted to find a way to reach a deeper level of information for my clients. I’ve just read your book and I’ve just started using your process – will I feel much of a difference in the way I receive information? Or will it just feel like I’m getting more? As far as the knowing difference in getting messages…

Linda:
When we’ve had experience and exposure and practice with other ways of working in these subtle realms, in the very beginning, it may seem like it all blends together because it seems so familiar.

On one hand, the reason you are called into the Records is because you are already related to it and you are already familiar with the energy. On the other hand, you do not want to mix the practice of accessing the Records with the Pathway Prayer Process with anything else. You just really want to road test this thing. In the book I talk about a grace period, a practice period. What we’re doing here is a little different, so you want to pay attention and just very consciously use this on its own. Don’t mix it with anything else over a period of time – usually the first few weeks.

If you are very persistent, let’s say you do it every day for 15 minutes: you go in, you open the Records, and maybe you make some notes, and close the Records. Do not evaluate your progress. Allow yourself to have the experience. Over a period of time, the distinction will be much more evident to you. You just want to keep walking the path, so to speak, so that the differences are clarified for you.

Now, it is also true that you may in the course of your other work bump into the Records. People bump into the Records all the time. This is your own soul, so of course you encounter it. But what I’m talking about here is using the Pathway Prayer Process to move into this state of awareness very deliberately, consciously, and responsibly, as opposed to maybe we will get there, maybe we won’t.

Question:
I feel that this is what I have been asking for. Can we access different kinds of information that we might not have been getting with other techniques?

Linda:
Qualitatively, it will be interesting for you to eventually compare what you normally get with what you get in the Records. However, I think it is really important when you are first beginning not to evaluate. You just want to give yourself a chance to go into the Records and allow yourself to be a beginner. Many of us come into the Records with a great expertise in other areas. You might be a great hypnotherapist, a great Reiki master; you may have great sophistication with other modalities. But it is very powerful to allow ourselves to be beginners in the Records, because the Light will take you where you are to go.

At least go in the first couple of times just to experiment, but you can start asking questions right away. You want to explore and experiment. Go in, see what it’s like. Go back in, ask some questions, see what happens, and come out of the Records. This is like the Great Exploration. It is a wonderful journey of discovery and revelation. You want to play with it a little.

I think sometimes the pressure of going into the Records and thinking, “Oh, my God, I’ve got to get this answer. I need to ask this question and get it answered.” It’s very hard to learn something new if we are under pressure to solve a very specific problem. So, if you can tease those two out, you will be problem-solving in no time, but give yourself a chance.

Question:
If I was to hire you for a private consultation, I’m looking for someone. Would you be able to find a missing person through the Akashic Records?

Linda:
No. First of all, I would love to be able to find your person, but the truth is the Records really aren’t that good for that type of divination. I say get yourself a good clairvoyant. That is really what I would do. I would get a very good clairvoyant or a psychic. There are some people who really specialize in the locating of missing persons or lost objects, missing things.

If we opened your Records and asked about this situation, what we would find is, how is this experience supporting your growth? How is this enhancing your awareness of your own goodness as a human being? But this is a real life problem, and it sounds really hard and painful. The Records will usually not give us the kind of answer you need. The Records will address the issue of how this particular situation is enabling your growth because the Records are at the level of the soul.

Sometimes information from the astral level -- the level at which you would probably find your lost person -- sometimes you can see it through the lens of the Records, but we really can’t count on it. So save your money on the Akashic Record reading, and go find someone who specializes in lost persons, and I think you will have much better success.

Question:
I guess I’m the opposite of the one who is already intuitive and already very active and clear. This is a beginning process for me, and I’d like to know how much preparation does it take? For example, do I have to have a deep level of awareness already, before I’m able to access the Akashic Record?

Linda:
No, the Records will meet you wherever you are. These are your Records. This is about you having a conscious relationship with your own soul. So you don’t have to have any training in that. It is unnecessary. What you can do is just follow the directions: there are directions and it is a good idea to follow them. As you do that, what is right for you will come. What is right for you will be made available to you.

The other thing I want you to know is that you do not have to be psychic. You don’t have to be intuitive. You do have to be alive, and have a sincere desire of the heart. That is all it takes to get started. You will be fine. Just give yourself a chance.

Question:
What you were saying is that the information that you get in the Records is not going to be specific kinds of things like daily activities, or like this woman was looking for someone, you wouldn’t find that?

Linda:
This is not psychic work. This is not fortune telling. We are not divining the future. What it is, is an exploration – it is a space. The Akashic Record is the soul-level dimension of consciousness. What happens is that as we consciously move into the Records and interact with the energy – the Record is made up of energy and wisdom. It is kind of like the intersecting point of these two. What we need to support our growth is revealed.

From a Records point of view, it does not matter – you don’t get visions and flashes of when you were on the playground in the third grade and this incident happened. Let’s say you did have a difficult experience like that, something happened on the playground in the third grade, and it was very uncomfortable for you. What you would get in the Records is that something happened, and this is how it impacted you. It is qualitatively different.

The Records are not really concerned with whether somebody there was wearing a red jacket, and it was overcast. Who cares? That is secondary information. What is primary is: How did this affect you? What have you done with this? Have you used this experience to support your growth? Have you used it against yourself? What is the purpose of this experience from the point of view of your soul, and how could this possibly help you in your growth?

It is where the attention is, where the emphasis is. What has happened to you in the course of life has happened. We are not changing the raw material. What we are doing is looking at it from a certain angle that can be a tremendous resource with coming to peace with unresolved issues and gaining clarity. It can be remarkable.

Question:
Would it clarify a life purpose?

Linda:
Absolutely! I’ll tell you what’s interesting about this, because that’s the question we all have. Of course we want to know what am I doing here? What are the possibilities? How can I help? We all have those kinds of questions.

In the Records, we will find that, but we find it through our ordinary life experiences. What we see in the Record is that all of life, even the most mundane, all of life is supporting us in the revelation of the purpose of our soul. So it’s not like our purpose is outside of us. Our purpose is actually inside of us, and everybody is walking around in their purpose anyway, it is just a matter of becoming more conscious about it. And then when you are conscious of it, you can make choices and decisions that will actually propel you in your purpose, and that gives you a lot more satisfaction. It feels so much better when you feel like you have purpose.

Question:
I thought that once I become more adept and comfortable with reading and taking care of my own issues that I would like to do a reading for a friend of mine’s son who has a drug addiction problem to prescription pain pills. The question is that this person is going to either be high or going through withdrawal. Though he is most likely to be high, if I get permission to do a reading. I was wondering if that was going to have any adverse affect on the reading. The answer that I got, that kind of trickled through in normal consciousness was that it is not going to have any effect because I’m doing the reading, and I’m not going to be high.

Linda:
Go to the head of the class! Very good. You got it! Right.

First of all, and you already get this, we don’t read anyone’s Records without their permission, unless they ask for it. So we want to be very realistic. Somebody who is on drugs, prescription or otherwise, legally or illegally, this is not a group that is normally seeking out an Akashic Record reading. If, indeed, the person is, where the work lives is in the consciousness of the practitioner.

When someone comes for a reading, we have times in life where we just can’t seem to get to the core of something. We are overwhelmed. We are human beings, we are not robots, and we can have challenges. It is beneficial to seek the assistance of another human being. The person who can help and is doing the reading is the person who can reach the next higher level. It’s almost like if you want something out of the cabinet; the reader is the person who has the ladder that can get to the top shelf. What is going on with the reader is more important than what is going on in the consciousness of the person being read.

People can be however they are, but the truth of the matter is that we must wait until they ask. You can offer, you can say, “Hey, I’d love to open your Records. If there is any way I can help you, I would be happy to do that.” Then we wait. We honor the decisions and choices of everyone, even if we think it would be a great idea for them to have a reading. The truth is, it is for them to decide.

The Akashic Record is serious business. The readings are very intimate; they are very personal, and everyone who steps forward for a reading must do so of their own volition, consciously and responsibly.

We don’t read dead people. First of all, they don’t need readings, and secondly, they can’t ask for them. We don’t read people in comas. If someone says to you, “my sister is in a coma, could you do a reading on her?” I would say, “I can’t read your sister, but if you would like a reading, I would be happy to do one for you.” The person who asks for the reading is of the consciousness to receive help. In the spiritual work, receptivity is key. We have to be receptive, and the way we know that someone is receptive, is that they ask. Asking is really powerful.

It doesn’t matter if someone has a cold, because we are not reading the energy field. It doesn’t matter if someone is having a bad hair day. Sometimes people will say, I can’t have a reading today; I had a bad day at work. We are not working at that level. We all know that bad days come and go. We all have bad days; we all have good days; we have easy days; we have hard days. There is always that flux, but that does not impact who we are at the level of the soul, and the Akashic Record is a soul-level dimension of consciousness, and that is where we do our work.

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
Are the Akashic Records the same thing that is referred to in scripture about how your name is written in a Book?

Linda:
Psalm 139 talks about that the hairs on your head are counted, and that even before you were born, it was all recorded, so to speak. Everything has been known. Absolutely, it is referred to in scripture. It is referred to in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. We find in Revelation there is reference to the Book of Life or the Book of God’s Remembrance. That is the Akashic Record. So it is really not far away at all from our basic Judeo-Christian tradition, here in the West.

Even in the Jewish tradition, for the high holidays, for Yom Kippur, there is reference to the Akashic Record, in that once a year God opens the Book. The Book is open and God looks and says, “How did you do this year?” It is the Atonement. It is a very sacred and religious tradition that has been observed for thousands of years. So the Akashic Records are not very far away from us.

The word “Akasha” is a Sanskrit word which means, “primary substance – that from which all things are formed.” It is Sanskrit, so it’s Eastern. But the Akashic Record, itself, is universal in its availability and it shows up in a variety of traditions all over the world all through time.

Follow-Up:
It’s great to hear that you can access these things, because growing up you think that this is something that nobody can access until the day that they pass away, and on that day there’s an angel that stands there and reads your Records and tells you everything that you need to know about yourself, and then decides whether you are going to Heaven or Hell, which is the way we were brought up and taught through Christianity and most religions. Does it also deal with karmic debt?

Linda:
Yes. We are now at the time in history when every one of us is entitled to and has the right to have a conscious relationship with their own soul.

This is the time. This is the very time when that is to happen, and that is why the Record is now being made available to people like us, just regular people. We don’t have to be mystics, we don’t have to be scholars, we don’t have to go sit on top of the mountain for five years and starve ourselves. We don’t have to do any of that, which is terrific.

We don’t have to wait until the moment of judgment when the angel is going to tell us. This is the time where we work very consciously, deliberately, with intention to know our own soul, to have a conscious relationship with the Light. As a collective, we are moving out of our spiritual childhood really into spiritual maturity, where we have the opportunity to be in direct relationship with our own spiritual authority. Where we get to call the shots – we get to say, Listen, it’s time for me to wake up. I want to be awake. I can handle the responsibility, we all can. It is our time.

Up until I came into the Records, I thought karmic debt meant I have been so terrible, it will take me lifetimes to clean this mess up, and every mistake I have made is being held against me. Basically, it was going to take at least one eternity to kind of clear the ledger. What happened is that as I have worked in the Record I have come to understand that karma is not what I thought it was.

The Record is a realm that is governed by spiritual principles, and the three principles that govern the Akashic Record are Judge Not, Resist Not, and Fear Not. In this culture of the absolutes of the Akasha, it makes for a completely safe and loving and generous experience. So that when I go into the Records, it’s not about what a rat I was, it is about that I am good. I am good, you are good, we are all good. The journey through time is about coming to know our own goodness, not to find out what a big schmuck I am. Even though some of the choices I have made that I might think are dumb, or why did I do that to myself or another, what I see in the Record is that every action has been an effort to come to know the goodness. Every mistake I have made, every limiting pattern that I have been attached to has all been an effort to move into the Light. I have come to understand karmic debt as I understand the journey through time in the Records, it is a journey of coming to know that no matter what I have done or failed to do, that the Divine Presence is with me always and loves me no matter what, and that I cannot escape the love of God, and that is not what I thought it was going to be about.

We were raised with some pretty harsh ideas. You are not good enough, you have to earn, and it goes on and on. And even as we have awaked as a culture, we have transferred the old ways into New Age ideas. If you just get the system right, it is going to be fine. The truth of the matter is that it is not a matter of good management; we are loved no matter what. And that is a crazy idea when I think of it, and it is something that I am always growing into, and that is the great journey of the soul through time: coming to know my own goodness and the goodness of everyone else. This is like outrageous!

Question:
Do animals have Akashic Records?

Linda:
Sure, and you can open up the Records of animals, but they are a little different than people. They do not have the same level of awareness, they are a little different. But can you do it? Absolutely. You can open the Records of anyone or anything with a name. The animal has a soul. What is interesting, too, Isis, some people are very effective, they have a strong connection to animals, and they can open the Records of their pets and the pets of others to really get healing information and guidance and wisdom. There are others who will try to open up the Records of an animal and not get very far.

What we are seeing with the work in the Records at this point in time is that there are so many ways for people to work in the Records, and we are just discovering what works, what doesn’t work, what is useful, what is not, but what we are also seeing is that some people are really great at reading the Records of animals and some people are not. Some people are really great at reading the Records of places, like you could open the Records of sacred sites, if you wanted to.

Follow-Up:
So everything on planet Earth, or even everything in the solar system? I’m assuming that if this is happening here, it must be happening everywhere in the solar system. So basically, you are saying that there is a kind of – for lack of a better term – a cosmic computer, if you will, that records every single action.

Linda:
That is actually a very good understanding, the idea of the cosmic computer. It is fascinating to me that the growth, development, and awareness of the Akashic Record has run alongside the growth, development, and the usefulness of the internet and computers. As within, so without. These two are traveling pretty much neck and neck, which is, I think, just fascinating.

Every time we have expansions in internal awareness, we see that reflected in the world, and we see the growth of the internet. You can think of the Records as the Spiritual Google, you really can, because everything is in there – everything that has been, everything that is going on now, and everything that will be.

Once you leave an ordinary state of consciousness and move into an extraordinary state of consciousness, time as we know it collapses. From a Records point of view, if something happened yesterday or 1,000 years ago, it is in there. To us it’s a big deal, but from a Records point of view, it’s all in there.

Now, it is important to know that the truth of the matter is that we do not need to know everything about everything now, so we always work from the present. The point of power is always in the present. We can use the Records as a resource for our healing, for our consciousness development, for our empowerment, but we always have to start with the present.

The Records are very much concerned with having a Heavenly consciousness as we walk the Earth plane. It is really so that our ordinary everyday life issues: work and money, health, relationships, family, all of this really is in some ways very important in the Record, because it is through our human journey that we come to know the Divine Presence. It is not by leaving the human journey, but by allowing ourselves to be human, moving through our humanity we will encounter the Divine. The Record is the space where Heaven and Earth meet.

You asked about the solar system, the truth of the matter is that anyone who wanted to could open the Records of the planets. You could open the Records of the solar system, but you will only get what is yours to know. I may not need to know anything about the planet Mars, but you might open the Records of Mars and get all kinds of stuff. So we don’t know. We are just in the discovery phase, and this is really very exciting to me.

Question:
Have you ever heard of cleaning the Akashic Records or removing attachments and things of that nature? I saw one person and they said like everything that they were doing at one point, after the Akashic Records reading everything changed for them. Like the relationship that they were in, they left the relationship; other attachments and other friendships that they had were immediately removed from the individual. So I was wondering if you can give me some clarification on that.

Linda:
All work in the Records is healing work. It is all energy healing, and the way energy moves is on the spoken word. Now, we know that energy moves on the word. We know that “In the beginning was the Word.” We know the importance of the word.

In the Akashic Records, everything is amplified. We are looking at who you are through the lens, really, of your soul. As we tell the truth about what is going on, that which no longer supports you – it is almost like puncturing a tire and letting the air out. It is like it goes flat. If something is no longer true for you, does not support you, is not good for you, as we tell the truth that is in the Records, this shift occurs.

So what can happen like if we do a reading, we know that in the course of an hour is your whole life changed in the physical? No, but what changes is your relationship to it. Because that which is no longer current, it is almost like we let the air out of that, and as we speak the truth of the moment, it brings life to it, it amplifies it. So, yes, as you go forward after the reading, you may have a very different relationship with your life. Those things that you have really been struggling with, the struggle can go.

Now, this is not magic. So what happens is, if what you have to do is leave your job, if that is really the next right step, and that is revealed in your Records, nobody is going to do it for you unless you get lucky and they fire you; right? The truth is that you still have to act in congruence with what you know to be true. There is the level of knowing, and then there is the level of action. On a spiritual journey, they both count; we have to do both, because this is the physical plane.

Everything can certainly shift, but we cannot undo what has happened. I’ve been working in the Records a long time. If somebody got hit by a car, they got hit by a car, but what can shift is the relationship to the experience. So instead of knowing it as a devastation, we can actually come to see how this was supportive from the level of the soul.

What we see in the Records is how our experiences support us coming into a conscious relationship with our own soul and the Divine. If I look at an experience in my life, and I am condemning it – oh, this is terrible, I was stupid, they were stupid, everybody was wrong – negativity is like Velcro in the energy world. You cannot get rid of something you condemn.

And we know that scripturally. If you release somebody, they are free. That’s the law. In the Records we work with that. We move energy as we speak. We tell the truth, and those whom we release are released, and those whom we bind our bound – within us.

After a reading, we go forward and we are tremendously relieved. If we can make peace and come to a point where we Judge Not, Resist Not, and Fear Not – remember the three absolutes of the Records. We have to get used to that. We live in a very judgmental culture, and we live in a fear-driven culture, especially the last eight years. So much has been fear driven.

If you start working from a place of Fear Not, Judge Not, Resist Not, your relationship to everything that has happened changes. Terrible things happen. Terrible things have been happening to human beings since the beginning of time. This is not personal. This is universal. The human journey is, “Can I know the truth about myself when I am imperfect? Can I know the truth about others when they are imperfect? Can I stop judging and let life be what it is?”

The great Masters were not hitting people over the head with the Book. Jesus did not go to towns and say to people, “You people are a bunch of idiots; you’ve got to get with it.” He didn’t say that. He was like, “You guys are great, and I’ll see you later. You’ll get it when you get it, and in the meantime, you’re cool with me.” He really lived this.

That is our opportunity to have the experience within our own Records and then to begin to see life through that lens. There is no reason to try to erase something from the Records once we see how it has been good for us. Sometimes it’s like, “Oh, that was really a bad situation, but the truth is, that was the most love that I could allow myself to have at that point in time.” Is that sad? Yes. But the journey is growing into, getting used to greater and greater experiences of love, self-respect, dignity.

Question:
It seems to me that whenever you are looking at the Akashic Records, that things are being looked at on a much broader level than say the 3-D, material world that we currently live in at this time. Pretty much, it seems to me that we’re here to have experiences, and in the Akashic Records we see how those experiences have shaped our lives for us to learn certain lessons and so forth and so on. Is it possible to read past lives? Like does the Akashic Records cover everything concerning you?

Linda:
The Akashic Record is not a fishpond of past lives. What happens is that past lives are revealed as it supports us in the present.

Let’s say that I’m having a difficult situation with one of my sisters. I always start with the present, so I go into the Records and I say, “What is going on? I don’t understand this; it doesn’t make sense. We love each other, but we have this difficulty. What is up? Where did this start? What can I do about it? “

So I go into the Records looking for the solution to a problem in my life today, and what I find out – I may see it, I may hear something, I may have a sense of it, but I’ll have this awareness that in another place and time we are fighting over a set of dishes 1,000 years ago. As opposed to me going into my Records and saying, “tell me my past lives.” Well, why? It has to be for a purpose.

It’s not just let’s go look at our past lives. No. This is an infinite spiritual resource for our empowerment and our consciousness development. We don’t need to know all of our past lives. We only need to know the ones that are relevant today, and that is what comes forward in the Record. So we see how unresolved issues from other lifetimes affect us today. We also see that there may have been another time where I was in a situation – let’s say I want to be a better manager, and I go into my Records and say “I need to know how to be a better manager of people. I need some help with this. Please give me guidance.” What may come forward is that there was another lifetime where I was a very good manager of people. The wisdom of other incarnations can become available to us today, and that is fabulous. Yes, there are unresolved issues with people from other times and places, but also, we have been moving through time gathering wisdom and insight and understanding, and this puts us in a position to integrate that into our present day consciousness; to integrate this very deliberately and very consciously, and then to use what we’ve been learning over the centuries. So, yes, there are a couple of different ways to use past lives.

Question:
How people can tell the difference between dreams about past lives and fictional scenarios that help them in their present life?

Linda:
The truth is, nothing can come into your awareness unless you are already related to it. You wouldn’t even have a dream – the dream state is another dimension of consciousness. Nothing can come into your awareness unless you are already related to it. It is an energetic impossibility.

If you say, “Oh, it’s fictional.” Well, is it really? And does it matter? I know that you could not even fathom it unless you were already somehow connected. You can go out into the world, and you will always meet the people that you will meet. There are some people that you can be standing right next to, and they are completely invisible to you, and you to them, because you are not energetically resonating. It is the same thing with our dreams, our perceptions of other times and places, our understandings, only what is ours can be revealed to us.

Follow-Up:
Dreams are indeed layers or dimensions of consciousness. Are you suggesting that all dreams are facets of past lives or future possibilities?

Linda:
I’m not a dream expert at all. What I am suggesting is that you could not dream about them unless you were already somehow connected. And here’s the thing about other dimensions of consciousness. Time as we know it on the Earth plane – once you are in a dream, time collapses the same way as it does in a spiritual state, like in the Records.

So, is it the future? Is it the past? Who knows? We have many people who have really prophetic dreams. Everybody has somebody in their life that when they have a dream, we all sit up and listen, because there are some people who have a very strong connection to the dream state. And sometimes it is very much about the future, and sometimes it is not.

Question:
Is the Akashic Records something that you can access to find out about the future?

Linda:
What we get in the Records is not like predetermined, you have to go to Jamaica, and you have to do blah, blah. It’s much more about possibilities and probabilities. It is not about absolutes. This is not some tablet carved in stone that you absolutely must move to the West Coast, or the East Coast, or wherever. It is about who you are as an evolving being. It’s about what are better possibilities for knowing yourself, and what are the ways in which you can experience more love, and allow more love to come through you to share more love. And whether that is in Florida or the Bahamas, it doesn’t matter. What we see in the Records – this is not an oracle that will tell you that you absolutely have to do this or you have ruined your life. What we get in the Records is, “try as you might, you can never ruin your life. Are you ready to take the next step in growing into a richer state of self-love and love for others? Are you ready for more forgiveness?”

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I work a lot with animals, nature, outdoors – always have been connected to it, and I have always been connected to music and helping others. I was curious about past lives. I’d like to find out if there’s a common thread in what I’ve been doing all the way along; if I’m on the right path. I’ve met a lot of people along my journey who have been very inspirational to me. I’m just very curious, like a sponge at the moment, wanting to know more. And I have just started reading your book.

Linda:
When it is time, it is as if everything shows up. That really is true. When the student is ready, the teacher appears, and we really see that. And yet, there is a certain level of awareness. People come to the Akashic Records as a result of that inner prompting. It is that inner call, and it is the prompting of your soul really saying it is time to know your own soul in a very rich and conscious way.

Working in the Records, what we find, all of your past lives are in there, for better or worse – no, actually, they are all good! Working with the Pathway Prayer Process, the past lives are revealed as they support your healing in the present.

When you go into your Record, the best way to access past life information is to go in asking about something in your present life. And you want to ask questions that are really open-ended, because you always get more. Those are richer questions, they mine the Record. They are more effective when working in the Record. Why am I so drawn to working with animals? Where is that from? That is a question that you take into your Records – and there are a gazillion possibilities. The past lives that are useful to you will be revealed.

What we see often with people with particular talents is that you have done similar work in other lifetimes, and it may be that this incarnation is about taking your gift to the next level.

Follow-up:
That is the way I have always felt, and my grandparents have always encouraged that, and they were very amazing people, and I have learned a lot from that, and I have been blessed to have spent a lot of time with my grandparents.

Linda:
That’s wonderful. This is a wonderful place from which to work in the Records. Within the Akashic Record, everything is in the present. When we move from one dimension of reality, like an ordinary state of consciousness, to an extraordinary state of consciousness, time as we know it collapses and everything is immediately available.

So from an Akashic Records point of view, past lives in some ways are not that big of a deal. Part of our work as practitioners is to discover how are these things revealed to me? When we work in the Records, some people are very visual and see a lot; some people are audial and hear. Many of us have what we call a sense of knowing. Most people have the sense of knowing. In the Records, as we put words to what we are experiencing or what things seem like, as we begin to articulate our experience in the Records, the energy moves. Energy moves on the spoken word. I think that’s one of the first rules we learn about with energy, that energy moves on the spoken word. So we want to be careful about the kinds of words we use, and we want to be conscious of words that we think as well as what we speak.

As we describe situations, the energy shifts. As we tell the truth about old ideas and old patterns, we are actually relieved of them. It is almost like in speaking there is a dissolving of things that don’t fit anymore; old patterns, old ideas.

Question:
A few weeks ago I got your book, and I read right through it. Now I’m going back and re-reading the first half about how to open my own Records. I am having difficulty opening the Records, or thinking that I can open the Records. I keep trying, and I haven’t been able to, and I wonder what is in the CD set that may be different.

Linda:
We have two things to talk about here. The first is what will really support you in shifting into your Records deeper? And the other thing is the CD set. I love the book, but with the book, it’s like do this, do that. It’s a how-to book, and sometimes I find that it can be very challenging to simultaneously try to manage the instructions and have the experience. Where if you are listening to the CDs, when you are listening, you are actually being led through it, so that the pressure of “which step do I do now?” is off of you.

Follow-up:
I know what the process is, the way it is spelled out in the book. I did have a question about the light. Is the light – does it matter if it is golden or white?

Linda:
It makes no difference. That’s interesting, because different people – there are different qualities of light that are made apparent to different people. For some it is very golden, and others report more of a violet hue. The basic color of the light is white, and there are certainly overtones.

There are two things that I would recommend. First, I think it can be very helpful if you just get a notebook and take some questions into the Records, and just ask whatever your questions are, looking for insight. Don’t look for predictions. Look for insight or greater understanding. I would like to understand this relationship better, or that situation. Then just open your Records and jot down whatever it seems like. Don’t evaluate it while you’re doing it. Then close your Records and don’t read it for about a week. Everyday go in, and take a fresh piece of paper and just ask a question or two and write down what it seems like. No evaluation, no judging. Do this every day, and then about a week or 10 days later take a look and re-read and see what it says.

One of the things that happens when we are in the Records is that it can seem very natural, if you are having a more conscious awareness of your own soul.

Follow-up:
Do I write the question down before I open the Records, then?

Linda:
Either way. I know this happens for me all of the time. When I’m working in my Records, I’ll think, “What’s the big deal?” This just makes sense, or it seems so obvious. But then I will come back a week later, and I’m flipping through my notes, and I read it and I think, “God, that’s really good!” I realize that when I have a little distance from it, my perception changes. I would really urge you to do that.

The other thing that I would recommend is to offer to read the Records of another person. Now, you don’t want to scare the daylights out of yourself, and you do not want to put unnecessary pressure on yourself. Go to someone and say, “I’m learning how to do this, and I would like to try it.” What I’ve seen so much is that for many of us, opening the Records of another person, being in the Records from the perspective of serving another will open up our own Records more.

There’s a whole group of people who do excellent work in the Records for others, but their work in their own Records is not as vivid. It does not have much phenomena or sensation. The guidance is valuable and rich, but when they work on the Records of another, it is a much more dramatic process.

Question:
I’ve gotten your book over the weekend and I absolutely loved it. I read it straight through. I opened the Records up one time without asking any questions. Right now I’m working as a kinesiologist and I do energy work on my clients. I get good knowing, clear, cognizant information for my clients when I’m working on them, and I also get good information for myself on my own. I call it a download. I kind of wake up with it in the morning. One of the problems that I’m having, I have a lot of self-doubt, and I found that I’m going into the Records for self-serving purposes, and I’m looking for validation like, Is this true? Do I really have these abilities? I’m always looking for validation. How can that interfere with accessing my Records or somebody else’s?

Linda:
Self-doubt is just the worst, and it interferes. First of all, it is okay if you have self-doubt, we all have it. Think of it as a spiritual practice. I am going to go into the Records, and while I am in the Records, I will take my attention off of myself and my abilities, and my performance, and I will focus on the question. I will focus my attention on that which I seek.

It is a discipline. It is an ongoing challenge for every Akashic Record practitioner. There is an old saying, “By your fruits you shall be known.” You want to take your attention off the “how you are doing” and put it on “what kind of guidance am I getting?” If you are opening the Records of another person, you want to put your attention on them. “How can I help them?” And work with that as a way to get some of this stress, to overcome this obstacle.

Sometimes I think that it does not matter if I doubt myself or not; I can still be useful. My usefulness, your usefulness, does not depend upon you having complete conviction in yourself. It just means that in the moment you are willing to take the next step. In the moment you are willing to extend yourself just a little bit more than ever before. In the moment you are willing to put your attention on the service involved, rather than the process. Whether it is the Pathway Prayer Process or other energy work, the processes are fascinating, but they are methods. They are a means to an end, and the end is to receive more understanding, more wisdom, and compassion than ever before.

I think you nailed it. Self-doubt is an ongoing challenge for people who work in the Records, and in any service to others.

Follow-up:
Do you have any suggestions on questions to ask the Masters about how I can better be able to step into those fears? How would I phrase that in a good way to help me overcome that?

Linda:
It sounds like you just formed a great question to ask in your Records. “Can you please help me to overcome my fears? Show me how to move beyond my self-doubt. Help me to know how to be more useful.”

Question:
I’ve only been in the Records one time. While I normally get things either clairaudiently or a knowing, when I went into the Records, I was seeing a lot of things – flashes of things. Is it common for work in the Akashic Records to be completely different than any other experience?

Linda:
The Records always come to us in a way that challenges us to grow. So if you’re a person who always sees, you may not see anything. There are a lot of people who are visual artists who expect to see, because that is their nature, and they hear, or they have a sense of knowing. The Records always come to us in a way that challenges us to go to the next level, to explore greater knowing. So this happens all of the time.

Question:
I have been having past life memories for about six years, and I have also been getting some readings on other people – I do not do it purposely. So when I actually went through the process I was amazed, because that is basically what I’ve been doing, but it was much more powerful using your process. I guess I had been tapping in without realizing it. You mentioned that you have to ask people to do a reading, which I understood. But if I’m dealing with a problem with a person, is it all right if I just ask them to come forth on a soul level?

Linda:
No. Leave them alone. When you go into your own Records, let’s say you are dealing with a relationship issue with another person. When you ask from within your own Records for guidance or illumination, asking for help in a relationship situation, your own Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones will bring to your awareness that which you need to know about the other person. There is so much about other people that is frankly none of our business. What you need to understand so that you can heal will be revealed to you. Then you will have a shift, and in your everyday life, your challenge then is to be different, to be healed in that relationship, which will happen. In the Records, we do not – that’s different work where you go in and meet with the soul of another person. There is just no reason to do that. The truth is, what you need to know about others will be revealed to you in a way that is useful to you in solving your problem, and that is the way to look at it.

Here’s the truth. Every relationship issue we have is not about what is happening between us. It is about what is happening within us. Every relationship issue is an externalization, a manifestation of some incongruence within our own awareness. In the Records, we work within our own soul and our own relationship there. As we resolve any of our own internal conflicts, misperceptions, misunderstandings, distortions, our relationships with others come to peace. Then if, indeed, you need to have a conversation with another person, you are coming from a place of being healed, and it is very powerful and effective for you and for them, as well. So it is a different angle.

It is a different angle. I am excited to hear this about you finding the prayer, because it will enable you to work in the Records at will, and how fabulous is that? It will also give you a lot more authority. Especially for people who are very sensitive to energies, it can be very challenging to walk around in the world getting hits about everybody else. This way is like “Wait a second, don’t bother me right now, I’m at the movie.” This way gives you more authority in your relationship with the Divine Spirit, and that is great.

Once you begin doing Akashic Records readings for other people, we call it the 30-day grace period. In that 30-day period, it is a good idea not to collect money. You have the option of going to people and saying, “Listen, I’m learning how to do this, please let me read your Records. “

After the first 30 days, you can say, “I’m learning how to read the Akashic Records, and if you would ever want a reading, please let me know.” And then we let it go. Because you never want anyone to have a reading unless it is their choice. This is a very adult, intimate work, and we want everyone to step into the work of their own accord, and we honor that. You want to have a chance to practice.

I have been making a living reading other people’s Akashic Records, and you can certainly do that. In the beginning, give yourself a chance to read other people without having to figure out how much money do I charge? Just give yourself a chance to be in the Records, to experience the energy, to learn about how it works for you.

The other idea is that you do not want to mix working in the Akashic Records with other systems during the first 30 days. You really want to know how this energy works with you before you start mixing it with other things. People mix it all the time with different systems. People open the Records and read astrology charts. People open the Records and look at the Tarot. People open the Records and do many, many different practices, and they are a wonderful support for some people, and for other people it doesn’t work. So you just experiment.

Questions and Answers about the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I’m interested in your class on Balancing the Heart, Mind, and Will. Can you tell us more about it?

Linda:
I find this class particularly exciting for the time we are in. The Collective has spent the past 25 years clearing the pathway between the heart and the mind and really coming into right relationship with these two, and our relationship to the heart/mind connection.

As I understand it, we are moving into expanding this to include the will. So instead of it being two-dimensional, it is actually three-dimensional. We are working with the integration of the will so that we can establish our strength; our inner tripod. When it is set up, the Light that is certainly infinite within us can then be more greatly revealed. We can actually release more Light. More Light can come through us, the stronger that tripod.

All of this Light can come through me. That is absolutely true. There is an infinite, eternal reserve of Light within. But if you are not structurally stable, the Light cannot come through you as much as is possible. When we look at, “Where do I have power? Where can I make a difference in this process?” Where you can make a difference is in stabilizing, strengthening your own inner triangle, and the Light will take care of itself. It is not necessary, and can be very frustrating to put our attention on the Light, because that is not where our authority is.

Follow-up:
Do you think that this class will be helpful for integrating more fully what I think of as my inner feminine and my outer masculine?

Linda:
Absolutely. In that harmonizing process, it is a synthesizing that will occur naturally on its own, if it is supported sufficiently. When we look at the refinement of this already existing internal structure, when we work with that, when what we understand as the masculine and feminine aspects, when there is a structure through which they can find their own balance, they can find their own relationship; they can merge without one swallowing up the other. Where we can have tremendous impact on that synthesizing aspect is working on the container, working on the structure through which they find their own relationship. This is actually wonderful for that, I believe.

It is non-intrusive, non-invasive, it is non-manipulative, and it honors the integrity of these two different energies, and you and I both know that they are meant to be in harmony.

I think that what is really interesting about this is that in the harmonizing of these energies, what is the perfect balance within you is a little bit different than what is the perfect balance within me. We don’t want to enforce a false balance. We want to allow and to provide for these energies within the container that you are. We want these energies to find their perfect relationship within you. This perfect relationship within you will be a little bit different than the relationship within everybody else, and the expression will be different. We want to support this process, and I think it would be wonderful.

When we look at heart, mind, and will there are aspects that we recognize as definitely feminine or absolutely masculine. So you may find that just in the process some of the specific characteristics or some of the vibrational patterns that we identify as male and female, you can see how they emerge and are supported within this particular structure, which may ultimately be very beneficial for you in your own process.

When we work with supportive structures, this has been fascinating to me in my work, because when we look at supportive structures, they do provide for unique expression. At one level we know that we are all One and we share the same energy. On the other hand, we have to make room in a very real way for the unique expression of the Divine as it is revealed through the individual. I think that culturally we struggle with that. This is part of the age-old challenge for people through time. What does that mean? And how do we provide for that in a way that is supportive and non-restrictive? We want encouragement, but we do not want intrusion. Those are such delicate and subtle issues, and they are a little bit different within everybody, and I think that is one of the things that is exciting about the work is that we get to see how it emerges and reveals through different individuals.

Question:
Did you use a specific prayer from the very beginning when you worked with the Akashic Records?

Linda:
I was initiated into a sacred prayer in 1994. Prior to that, I know that at different times I would encounter the Akashic Field. The problem was that I had no authority over it. I knew that whatever this was that it was profound, and dimensionally, I could detect a shift. But I had no authority over it. I would just hope that I would get there. I worked with the prayer I received in 1994 for six or seven years, and it worked, and it was great. Though it did not anchor into the Heart of the Records, it was wonderful, it was very helpful, and I grew through using it.

It is interesting because I started teaching in that other system in 1996. After my first teaching weekend, in my own Records I was guided to use this other few lines, and it is actually the first part of the Pathway Prayer. It starts, “And so we do acknowledge the forces of Light…” and I had been using that first stanza for about six years. I would say that before I opened the Records using the other system. When the time came for me to leave that other system and to go off onto my own, I was given the guidance that this particular stanza would be the beginning of the new prayer that would take people into the Heart of the Records. And, indeed, that has been the case.

Follow-up:
Well, I can’t help but be curious because I have been adding a few words into the prayer, not when I was working with the CDs, because I did exactly as you were doing there, but when I’ve been working with the prayer on my own, I always include the feminine, so I’ve added just a few words. And from what you said before, it sounded like the way you saw that, it was changing the vibration of accessing the Records, and it was not accomplishing the same thing.

Linda:
Here’s how I understand it. If you change the words, you change the vibration. Any work that you do to prepare yourself before you open the Records that is your personal work. See, when I used this paragraph, this was my personal preparation. In my teaching, I think it is important for people to prepare themselves in whatever way works, but to use the prayer the way it is written. When I worked with that other prayer, I didn’t change a word, I didn’t change a comma. I worked with it as is, because I wanted the best that the lineage had to offer. Now, what I did to prepare myself prior to opening the Records, and what I did to ground myself after closing the Records, very personal and independently determined activities based upon my own personal ideas, beliefs, and understandings. The actual using of the prayer, I really believe in honoring the lineage the way it is.

That’s what the distinction is. I am not naïve--I know that people sometimes change the words. Everybody is finding their own way, and whatever people do is fine. But I know that it is important to honor the root. Because the root is the place from which growth occurs. It is an interesting thing. I always say, if you have another way, by all means you should do it.

I know the vibration of this prayer, I know a lot of the possibilities – I certainly don’t know everything. It is an infinite process and an infinite journey. I keep thinking, Oh, my God! This is as good as it gets, and then I find out that it gets even better. I know that I cannot really – like when someone comes and says, “Listen, I like your work, but I have rewritten the prayer, and I’d like you to help me.” I can’t help you with that because I don’t know that. I have no authority or understanding over something I do not know. It is that simple. And I think it really does raise the question that the understandings and the knowledge and wisdom that has been revealed to me through my work with this particular vibrational bridge – it is a vibrational bridge of Light – those understandings may not apply at all to your prayer. It is a fascinating issue.

Question:
I have been doing the 30-day grace period that you suggested. I just picked up the CD, and I have been offering readings. Actually, it is going amazingly well. I just tell people that something is free, and wow! I’m doing a lot of readings. I love this. This feels like it was the puzzle piece that was missing for me. It is just wonderful. I feel a shift, a change, I don’t know what else to say about that. I am really excited about doing this work, and it is just wonderful.

Linda:
I am so happy to hear about this, and I am so happy that you are getting a chance to use this, even if it is free! You see how much that in that grace period doing readings for free gives you a lot of room.

Follow-up:
And I don’t feel – I think the first time I did it via telephone, I got a little nervous, but it quickly went away. I’m beginning to feel like when I’m going into my own Records – I said the other day in class that I seem to have an easier time going into the Records for others rather than going in for myself. I am starting to really notice when I shift – that feeling of shift – it’s not that it’s not me, it’s me, but it feels so different. And once I close the Records, I feel almost as if I go into Reverse or Neutral. It feels like this body sound goes “click” back down.

Linda:
You know what is so great to hear how it’s only been a few weeks, and as you are using it, you are already developing your awareness of your relationship to the energy, its usefulness for you. This is fascinating that you are so alert to it. My understanding is that it is very supportive for you, and I am so excited for you. It is this great thing, we don’t know exactly where you are going to go, but you are going somewhere good!

Follow-up:
My partner has been the only one in my immediate group of friends who has not received a reading. I’m a little nervous about reading for her. In other modalities like Tarot, other than Astrology or Numerology, I don’t read for her, because I just feel too close.

Linda:
This is very wise of you. Great wisdom. It shows a lot of maturity in the process. This is why we say, unless someone steps forward and asks to have a reading, we just leave them alone. Sometimes the people we are really intimate with, they know us, we know them, and it is sometimes too much. It can often violate the boundaries that you have, but that does not mean – if there is something happening in her life that really has nothing to do with the relationship, and she asks for your help, you can certainly explore a work situation, as long as it is not about the relationship. If you are addressing relationship issues, this could set up a really unhealthy energy dynamic. It can get a little squirrely with power struggles. You already get it. You have such a natural caution. I am just fascinated about how you are being led. You go girl!

Follow-up:
Thank you. Because she has asked, she has kind of given me that look, Hey, what about me? She is probably going to ask about work, or she is finishing her masters in archeology, and that is probably what she would ask about. I’ll just tell her I can do a reading as long as she doesn’t ask anything about us.

Linda:
Right. And that will be easier. Our spirituality needs to support our relationship. It cannot be a weapon in the relationship. You understand the depth. You understand the intimacy, you understand the sacred nature with which we need to regard one another, and of course you would have apprehension. Whereas, she is not doing it. She does not know. This is different from Astrology. It is different from Numerology. It is like light years different. This is good.

Questions and Answers About the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I’m thinking about going to one of your certification classes and I’m wondering what I might expect to get from the class that I won’t get from having read the book?

Linda:
One of the things you will get is a certificate and become a certified practitioner. Although the book and cd set are a great way to learn, I cannot certify your training. However, if you come to a live class, you will be a certified practitioner. In some ways, getting the certificate can be very important, because it signifies that you have taken a significant step in your own initiation. You have made a greater commitment. In response to your commitment, I show up, and I teach you.
Also, when we work live, I can help you. If there are some areas where you struggle, I can actually help you with that if we are together in person. The energy of a group is always fabulous, because the group is working together and headed in the same direction, so it makes it easier to go deeper, faster.

It’s the difference between digging a hole on your own and digging a hole with a group. You can dig the hole on your own, and do a great job. We have a pond in our backyard, and my partner was digging the hole and doing a fine job. And then a friend came over, and soon everybody was working together, and the hole was done in no time. The hole was going to get done one way or another, and it was going to be a perfect hole. However, with group participation, it is kind of like it eases obstructions, interferences, and it makes the journey a little easier.

I have been working in the Records since 1994 and teaching since 1996. When I see you in person, I can see what will help you, and how to enable you to go deeper. I know you are committed to this; you are not committed to skating on the surface. People come to this work because of their internal calling. This is the urging of the soul. It is a soul-level prompting, and you are brought to this work.

This is profound work, and I know if you are called to this work, you are called to it because of your commitment to depth, your commitment to the truth, your commitment to exploration and discovery. I also really believe that there are parts of our inner work that we can only do ourselves. We have to walk down our own paths. And I think it comes with spiritual maturity when you realize, I can get there, I can dig to China, and if I go on my own, it will take 200 to 300 years. But if I get some help, it may only take me two days. To really recognize when it is appropriate to get help on the path, and what kind of help do I really need? Assistance, training, teaching, those may be better words than help, but we really want to look at that.

Follow up:
Should I also sign up for the Ancestral Clearing Class after the certification?

Linda:
Usually, the Practitioner’s Certification is Friday night and Saturday. And then Sunday there is a one-day class in clearing unwanted ancestral patterns. The idea is that we will move from technique into the application. You will leave with some tools. You will leave knowing what protocols are effective within the Records. Clearing unwanted ancestral issues is so natural in the Records, because in the Records, there is no time. There is only now. You cross that line between an ordinary state of consciousness and a non-ordinary state of consciousness, and time just collapses. It is all nowness, and we get to work with the present moment in the Records.

The present moment really is the point of power, and that is where we begin our work in the Records. We can work with how to be in right relationship energetically, with our lineage, with our family of origin, and make the shift so that we can enjoy the benefits, the advantages of any line through which we have come. No line is all good or all bad. That is an old idea. Our work as seekers and practitioners of the Light, our work is to discover the Light in the dark places, and to live from there. It’s one of my favorite types of work. I think you will love it.

Question:
I have had some readings done, and they all have said pretty much the same thing. And when I’ve asked about location – and I think you’ve pretty much answered my question -- when I asked, Am I where I need to be? What about some other locations? Most of the suggestions were like lateral moves. They gave me other names, but they were all about the same. They were all like lateral moves.

As much as I have done in my life, I think that it has all led up to something that I am not doing yet. I am real clear about that. What does that look like? I have no idea. I am currently serving as an assistant minister. I am an ordained pastor, and yet I know that there is still something that I need to be doing with what I already have been doing, something new, something different, and I’m getting to the point now where I really want to know, and I don’t like staying in the question. I’ve tried releasing it and releasing it, but it is not coming to me, and I’m ready. Give me patience, now! That kind of thing.

Linda:
Of course! Here is what I want to offer. It’s a very interesting situation that you are in, because as you speak, it is really very clear you are on the path. It is always alive, and there is always a next step, and there is always the next question, and really how beautiful that is. I understand that from where you sit this is really annoying and uncomfortable, but it really says so much about the aliveness of the path. It’s not like we get on the path and that’s it, we go to sleep. I think that is really quite beautiful.

As you speak, it occurs me that it may well be that what is next for you has not existed yet. Do you see? Because you are not here to do something that was done 100 years ago, or 50 years ago, or even 20 years ago. You are here to do a new thing, and it may be that new thing is just being revealed now. Do you see? This also illustrates another really wonderful understanding: that our personal journey is always in alignment with the universal journey, which I think is quite beautiful.

Your personal quest is bringing you right up to the 2012 time. We are in the New Age, but dimensionally, we are on the verge of a revolution. It is natural for you to have this question, this sense that ‘I think there is something more.’

That is fascinating. It may be really helpful to look and see if the Records are right for you, are good for you. Have you read my book?

It is experiential reading, so that if you read it, it is very activating, and it could raise some questions, and then we can talk. I think that would be a next good step to take.

Question:
I have the opportunity to study with Kryon. He talks a lot about mining the Akash. He said that he was a former engineer and couldn’t talk in front of people. Yet, being a channel for Kryon, he needed that skill and he felt woefully deficient. So he talked about mining the Akash, and going in and asking for guidance from a prior lifetime. Because he said that we have all been pretty much everywhere already, we can call up that experience from the Akashic Record to give ourselves the skill.

Linda:
What a great point that you have raised here. This is really good. In my book, in the section on past lives, there are protocols, and it is on the CD set too.

There are protocols, yet you can go into the Records and ask for another lifetime, another expression of yourself in space and time. Ask for another lifetime where you had mastery of whatever skill you need, whether it is public speaking, or any number of things. You can go in and you can ask. There are a few different ways that it can work. What is available is that we have a conscious connection and transmission of those gifts, talents, and abilities that we have carried within ourselves through time. It is fabulous, and very supportive.

From a Records point of view, this is not that big of a problem. In an ordinary state of consciousness, you have a big problem here. But from a Records point of view, it is in the grid, it is in the energy. The soul is like a Light. The energy field around us, the pattern, is a Light grid. And the Light grid carries potential. If in a lifetime you have been a senator, then the experience of a senator, and everything that goes with that – there can be good things, and there can be difficult things – everything is in your field. We are working through time to be aware of the wholeness of ourselves, the goodness of ourselves, and to consciously integrate, to the best of our ability, to integrate these different dimensions of ourselves. To know ourselves in the fullness. We are moving from glory to glory to glory, into greater knowing and greater knowing, and greater knowing, and this can be facilitated through our work in the Records.

Follow-up:
Then I can call on my past experience of reading the Akashic Records?

Linda:
No, no, no, no. I would not do that, and I will tell you why. You always want to work in the present moment, especially when you are making a dimensional shift in consciousness. I want to be clear that I am standing here today in Forest Park, Illinois. This is about being conscious and responsible. For the shift itself, you do not need to call upon another time and place where you had mastery of the Records, because where you want to make the shift from ordinary to non-ordinary, or from ordinary to extraordinary, is NOW. And that is very present tense, and it actually is – you want to be as deliberate and conscious and grounded about changing states of consciousness as you can. It will give you more authority in the process.

This is a complicated question, because we are talking about dimensional states, and– in order to maintain your responsibility, you want to keep that in the present. In this moment, I am going to be in this consciousness, and in this moment, I am shifting into another, and I want that pathway to be clear, deliberate, responsible, so that I can get into another state, and I want to be able to get back. People change state all of the time. But we are talking about being responsible, because the way to have authority over this is to be willing to take the responsibility.

The other thing to know is that your expertise in your relationship with the Akasha and the Akashic Record is something that is ongoing. This is your very own soul that we are talking about, and you are always in relationship with your soul. What we are working with is our level of awareness of that relationship. And that is also very much grounded in the present.
Follow-up:
Well, I will have to pray with the others for some patience also then.

Linda:
This patience thing--what is all that about? What is very challenging about patience right now is that we are in a time of universal urgency. You can feel it. We all know that our relationship with time has changed. There is an urgency. It is very tricky, I think, to be disciplined and sequential in our actions, while we experience the urgency. Urgency is your friend. Urgency will keep you going, but it can only be relieved incrementally with small steps. I know it’s hard. I think this is like my big life lesson, and the older I get, the worse it gets.

Question:
I think I was drawn to the book because there are things that my soul wants me to know that I have up to this point not wanted to know and deal with. I’ve done a lot of writing about healing yourself. A psychic once told me, “You know, you’re a wounded healer.” And that’s not what I wanted to be. I just wanted to write. I think this is my soul’s way of easing me into this work that I’ve done many lifetimes, and it’s my soul’s way of telling me what I need to know.

Linda:
Tell me, as you’re working with the book, how is it informing you? How do you see it making a difference? As a writer, you are very sensitive, and it’s very challenging to be exposed or revealed in this way. How is this supporting you?

Follow-up:
I have twice come in contact, usually through meditation, with an individual--someone who’s been with me. I know him and I recognize him. The first time I told him I’m not ready. The second time I was in meditation, and this individual is leaning up against a bookshelf in a huge library, and he smiled at me and winked at me. I realize this is easing me into this. I’ve had past life regression, and I didn’t want that, I didn’t want the responsibility, and I just wanted to live my life. The book is allowing me--it’s giving me the courage to go into it.

Linda:
That’s great. There is a Divine reason, there is a higher reason for this.

Follow-up:
Very much so. That’s why I have not gone into the Records yet. I know once I access those Records, there’s no turning back!

Linda: (Laughing.)
I have to tell you something honey, it’s already too late!

Follow-up:
This is very sacred, and I already know the sacredness of this. In this life it’s just something that I ran from.

Linda:
It’s time. It’s time.

Question:
I am similar to [the first person who spoke], I feel like it’s my soul’s calling, it’s time. I have tried lots of different ways – or my soul has tried to contact me. At night, I’m a huge dreamer, probably for the last four years, -- when it started about four years ago, I asked a question and went to sleep, and my soul said, “She’s finally asking a question!” It’s really hard for me to understand what they’re saying. I’ve been searching for a way when I’m awake to have access to the information in a form that I can understand.

When I read the book – I’ve heard of the Akashic Records before, but I hadn’t gone back, because I don’t want an intermediary, I know I can do this myself. When I found the book, I thought, “This is great, I can do this.” My block is still there, I still feel like I am in the Records, but the flow is not there yet. I don’t get words or information. I think I may be getting something, but my mind is telling me I’m not.

Linda:
This is one of the biggest challenges for all of us. We are always in the question, Is this real? Is this valid? What are the results of this? This will keep us on track. You know, it’s one of those simple laws of energy: whatever you focus on is what will expand or get stronger.

So in the collective, we are coming out of really 25 years of focusing on our blockages. First of all, they’re fascinating, and we thought that was the way to get rid of them, to focus on them to examine them, but the blockages are still there.

So what we want to do now – you don’t want to pretend it’s not there. All blockages are really rooted in fear. Take the attention – remember we want to focus on what we want more of. What we want is flow, freedom, clarity. And what will always dislodge the blockage is a sense of safety. So you want to be praying about “How can I experience more safety?” Have that be your question instead of “How do I move the blockage?“ We love our blockages, because they’ve really saved us from God knows what. Be in the question of – be in your prayers and be in your Records and before you go to bed, ask “How can I be in the experience of safety?” “How can I experience the security of Life?” “How do I get there?”

That’s one piece of this puzzle. The other is this: In your work, it’s more helpful to be looking at the information that you’re getting, instead of looking at how you’re getting the answer to the question. The Records are fascinating. They are not about phenomena. A lot of people have interesting experiences with the energy. Some people see or hear things, some may get a tap on the shoulder. A lot of people do brilliant work who aren’t seeing a dang thing! Don’t get too hung up on that.

Focus on “What am I walking away with?” “What kind of results is this experience creating within me?” “Am I experiencing peace, harmony?” “Am I upset?”

This really takes practice. There are no short-cuts. The more you work in the Records, even if it is 15 minutes at a time, what are you getting? What is my feeling about who I am in my life and my challenges as I walk away from the Records? Who am I in my life today as a result of being in the Records?

Many people who have these--like dreamtime shamans--many people will have this strong dreamtime access. When they work in the Records during the day, it’s like the Records get under the dream state. Don’t open the Records and go to sleep. That won’t be helpful. You don’t want to be in two places at once. Be one place at a time, and know where you are. But it can actually power-up your dream state work.

Question:
Can you open your records and go to work?

Linda:
No, open the Records before you go to work and ask for guidance for your work day and close the Records when you have received the guidance. How can I be a better whatever? How can I improve the quality of my service through my work? You don’t want to open your Records and go drive a bus. That’s stupid! The idea is these are different states of awareness, and it’s not helpful to either one. When you’re in a spiritual state, you want to be there, and you don’t want to be distracted by checking groceries or performing surgery. You want to be fully using your human faculties and you want to do your best work.

Explore the issues of your work day in the Records, but not while you’re working.

Follow-up:
I want to know how to use it in the moment? How can I take care of my patients on the physical level, the mental level, the spiritual level.

Linda:
At work, you want to be an Olympic athlete. You have to be very grounded to be an efficient transmitter. I go in the morning and I open my Records, and I’m like, “Show me what I can do today to help these people. Help me to be the best transmitter of light and love.” Say, “I am at your service, help me to be who you have meant me to be.” You may get some insights; you may not get anything. You close your Records, and then you go to work.

The Akashic Records want us to be fully developed as human beings. When you are with a patient, cleaning a wound, giving them medicine, this is what incarnation is about--that the Divine energy moves through the human beings that we are. It’s a discipline that you want to work on. It’s really a spiritual practice so that you grow into the ability to transmit more Light incrementally. I think that’s much more efficient, because when you’re in that dimension of the Records, it softens the edge of your mental body. If you’re working with anything from electricity to another human being, you want your mental body to be clear and sharp. The Earth plane is pretty dense out here. You want to move in and out of state on this, and I know you will get better results.

Follow-up:
So that means I shouldn’t freak out if I ask those questions before going to work, and I don’t get anything?

Linda:
Right. I go into the records and I ask 35 questions, and sometimes what happens is that it is not useful for me to have all that information. Remember the Records are energy first, information second. Turns out that when I’m at my niece‘s birthday party, while I’m there, I receive what I need. I’m a focal point for receptivity, and I can receive the guidance that I need on the spot. There I am at the party, and I’m very clear. Oh, this is really how to conduct myself. This is how I can help, as opposed to being at the party with my Records open and being a little daffy. It’s kind of like smoking a joint or being high. Maybe it’s great fun, but it’s not the best way to get clarity.

Questions and Answers About the Book “How To Read the Akashic Records”

Question:
I’ve been trying to work out something on a healing path that seems like it’s been going on for a while, but I have this feeling that I have hidden my true and authentic self in another dimension for safety, because it didn’t feel safe to incarnate it in this dimension. I do a lot of kinesiology work. I want to know if the Record can assist me in reintegrating this part that I’ve hidden for safety. I can feel when I tune into who I am and what I want, I can’t find it. It’s like I’ve cleared the false self and illusion, and what I’m left with is I’m not there -- I’m lost in another dimension. I guess I’ve done so much work on my own, but I’m stuck, I need to do this before I can go forward.

Linda:
Let me tell you how I understand that. From a Records point of view, you are whole and complete, you are intact, but your awareness of that in some areas is almost like you turned off the light. So that’s how we would understand that fragmentation of the self from a Records point of view, and one of the ways the Records could be very supportive--it’s a spiritual resource, and the more there is a fundamental sense of spiritual safety-- spiritual safety always precedes emotional healing. Working with the Records would be fabulous for this, because you move into a dimension that is safety, that is sanctuary, and you would be growing into that and you could work in the Records to expand and open up your awareness of yourself in all your dimensions, but in a very safe way.

When there’s a blockage -- blockages and stuckness – it is just fear. But the antidote is to create an environment within the Self that is safe, an environment of sanctuary where there is no judgment, because dimensionally, the trait of the Record is a space of unconditional love. It is not smarmy, it’s not skinny, it’s rich, it’s real, it’s expansive, it’s inclusive of the whole Self. And in that space, it’s easier to let go of fear. That’s directionally where you can go. You’ve been on the path for a while, and you understand that in the healing process, the ability to grow into the new space is actually available in the Records.

Absolutely, this is one of the wonderful ways to use the Records. This is consciousness development. This does require that we address and deal with our emotional wounds and distress. That’s part of it; your emotional body has to be intact –the spiritual and the emotional work in tandem. The greater the spiritual reliance, the easier it is to heal emotionally. The stronger the emotional body, the more healed, resolved, the more peaceful we are in the emotional dimension, the more Light we can handle. The territory just opens wide, it is pretty exciting.

Question:
My question is, what is changeable and what is not in this particular journey? Can the style of it be tweaked a little?

Linda:
That’s interesting. What changes? What changes in the journey is our awareness, in that it expands and increases. With the increased awareness, there is an expansion in our responsibility. With responsibility comes privileges and choices. There are many lifetimes where the issue is that we’re growing into responsible choice-making. There are whole lifetimes where we are working with that--with the fact that we do have choice. Our choices make a big difference in where we are going to go and what is going to happen. The stories can change.

The finish line is basically the same, and at some point every one of us will come to know who we are. We will know the truth about ourselves and about others, and we will live from that place. The “how we do it” is definitely changeable. Is there something specific that you have in mind that you want to change?

Follow-up:
I want to see if I can, regarding the Ascension, where I can be in terms of where I would be with my sister. I don’t want to be going and leave her alone.

Linda:
What I do know is that how we get somewhere – if you’re interested in Ascension and that process, and you are consciously working on that, what can happen is that we have a lot to say about the rate at which we can grow. We can accelerate the process. The idea of the Records is not a resource through which we will control our fate. This is not a control device. It is a resource that can enable us to move into a profound state of peace and acceptance, not resignation, that will enable us to be aware of our own goodness and the goodness of others, no matter what the circumstances. Through a relationship with the Records, it is easier to wear the world like a loose garment, so that at some level of circumstances, people, places, and things will no longer bother us. That is much more the purpose of the use of the Records as opposed to making changes.

We can make changes in ourselves, but we are not going to change the tides, the orbits of planets -- a lot of things we are not going to change. They don’t have to be changed, they are fine. Understand that this is a resource for being in a state of detachment with love, and in a state of respect and honor for ourselves and others and life itself. Whatever is happening in the world, we will be fine. It is a time of tremendous spiritual revolution, and our work is really the karmic imperative of our time: to become aware of ourselves as souls, and to become aware of our truth within the divine reality, and to live from that.

Question:
In your book you refer to the Masters, one group of individuals. When I think of Masters I think of St. Germaine. How do the Masters fit in to the Records?

Linda:
This is a great point. In the Records, we work with the Masters, but there are other systems, and other ways of identifying Masters. So within another system, St. Germaine has a personality, and is identifiable. It’s a different system though.

What is distinct about the Records is that the masters, teachers, and loved ones do not present with personalities. Within the Record, we are dealing with energy first, information second, and personality is at the bottom of the heap. It’s not important. It’s a different system. I know it can be confusing if you are very well-trained in another system. The angle on this is a little different, and the purpose is a little different. It’s not about personalities.

Follow-up:
Is it possible for St. Germaine to see a part of my Record?

Linda:
Absolutely, but within the Record, the Masters do not come forward – the Masters do not do the reading. They don’t come forward and say, “Hi, I’m St. Germaine, I’m going to help you.” You may recognize the energy of St. Germaine.

Jesus is the teacher for many people working with the issue of unconditional love, That is the work of Jesus. He’s the teacher for probably half of the world – the Western world, certainly. The energy of Jesus will be in the Record, but the personality of Jesus will not come forward, because it’s not about the personality, it’s about the energy and the information, the energy, and the guidance.

Akashic Records and 2012: A unique period of transformation

According to the Long Cycle Calendar of the Mayan Calendar, December 21, 2012 is the final date. Every quarter of this Long Cycle Calendar has been marked by dramatic shifts in the planet itself, in the form of floods and earthquakes. As we approach the calendar date of 12.21.2012, we are under the influence of the energies converging to facilitate a significant transformation. Some speculate that it may be the end of the world. I prefer to think that it is the end of the world as we know it. There are some matters of significance in this time of change worth examining.

Throughout history, there have been many times of radical change and transformation in the world. These range from the discovery of the wheel, the mastery of fire, the codification of laws, the steam engine, the printing press, the car and the Internet. Each of these are an expression of the stage or development of consciousness of humanity, “as within, so without.” Human beings are aware of themselves and as we become conscious of ourselves at increasingly deeper levels in the dimension of spirituality, and as our relationships with our inner selves expand, we see corresponding growth and progress in the world around us. One of the major purposes of incarnation on earth is to see life in physical form, and to experience the life force manifesting through the physical aspect.

Our current sophisticated communication and information technologies make it possible for tremendous numbers of people to be aware of this shift and to share in the experience. It is the most conscious age shift ever. This is radical and is the most inclusive and diverse age change yet. The grass roots availability of the internet, television, and other forms of electronic communication, is an expression of the awareness of humanity for itself as a group. This is not a shift for an exclusive, elitist group of white men. This change is for everyone; including women and racial minorities...all really does mean all. Even though we humans may be self-centered, we are recognizing that we are not here alone and we are actually interdependent with those who are here with us, those who have gone before and those who will follow.

What is most significant is that we are being challenged to examine ancient understandings, all old ideas and assumptions we have considered sacred, immutable truths. In this transition, we in the Western culture are being given the opportunity to explore the foundation principles of the Judeo-Christian tradition which has formed and governed the growth of our consciousness for the past 2500 years. Some of the most basic notions, like “God is good and people are bad,” or “God punishes the bad guys,” “God is on our side but not our enemies side,” or “God wants us to suffer,” or “God will love us if we are good,” (but not if we are bad.) All of these and more are up for review.

We actually have the opportunity to step away from the degrading aspects of these traditions and can make conscious, deliberate choices about what we know to be true from our own experiences. There are two parts to this. One is that, for the first time in about 2500 years, our cultural assumptions do not have to be rooted in ideas that are demeaning, limiting and untrue. This is the essence of the “New Age.” It really is a “new age.” It is a new age of self-awareness, of knowing the truth of who we are and a new age of knowing the truth of who others are as well.

It is also outrageous that this is the first time in history where the change is organic at a global level. This is a change that is occurring within individuals of all classes, socio-economic groups, races, and genders. It is moving from within individuals out into the world. This is not the result of a papal edict, a military victory, or a political coup. This is the time of each individual recognizing their worth as an expression of the essential Divine and the worth of all others. This time is of personal responsibility and personal authority, of being aware of oneself as the one who is the chooser in life and accepting that role.

As a student and teacher of the Akashic Records as a spiritual resource for empowerment and consciousness development, I encourage everyone to learn how to work in their own Records and those of others to support navigation of this amazing time. We are in a time of liberation from the limiting aspects of religions. Religions were originally set up as external organization and practices and structures through which we humans hoped to experience the Divine reality, and avoid ostracism. In contrast, the Akashic Record is an internal beam of light through which individual people can access the Divine Presence. The Akashic Record is the perfect resource for our time.

The imperative of the 2012 transformation is that individuals find a way to be in conscious contact with the Divine. Through this conscious relationship with the essence of Life, each will be transformed according to their own needs, for their own good and the subsequent good of all. It’s a curious thing that we have great attention on this time period as a time of collective change. That is true. The collective change is a result of a sea of individuals transforming internally, then, this huge collection of transformed individuals form the collective. Nothing will happen to “the collective” as a group. It will occur within specific individuals who will know themselves to be one of a greater group. This is also another radical departure from the past ways of change. This is from the inside out, one individual after another, after another, rather than imposed from above or outside by an outer force, imposed upon the group. The collective will not recognized as a single unit but rather as the congregation of individual persons.

It appears that we are moving toward one world religion….known for inclusion and diversity. Free from the fear based degrading ideas of the past. This time is the passage away from isolation to cohesion without coercion, from addiction to the illusion of separation to harmony with the reality of our oneness with the Divine and one another.

I believe that any system or method or way that supports you in the experience of the Divine reality is the ticket for our times. We are leaving the age of knowing about god and moving into the age of knowing god. This requires examining our own ideas of god, putting them to the test….is this a god worth trusting, letting go of superstition, moving beyond the limiting beliefs our tribal leaders put in place to keep us in place. This is the time to actively seek the face of god in your day, put god to the test, demand to see the life of god--not Santa Claus, but GOD. Look. Challenge. If your god is too fragile for your challenges, fire that god and get another.

The more each of us has direct experience of Divine life, the easier it is to let go and release the lesser parts of ourselves. When we have a sense of the certainty of god and love, we can do anything. In order to get to the age of outrageous possibility, we have to walk through the discovery of the reality of the Divine.

The Akashic Record does not conflict with any religion, does not impose itself, does not coerce. The Akashic Record is a spiritual resource that allows. It is a dimension of consciousness; it’s a sanctuary, a safe place to be as you allow yourself to know your true nature more than ever.

We see in this transition that each of us is responsible for our own experience. We can be supported and encouraged by others but we must go to that place within on our own. We support and encourage others knowing that they will go there as well. We can be there for each other, not because we are spiritual cripples, no--because we each have the potential to know the Divine truth within ourselves and to see it in others. As we do this we may find ourselves on edge and uncomfortable. It may be foreign, because it is not about form but about our own experience.

As we engage in this process, we will naturally express our magnificence, naturally live in peace with others, and naturally contribute to the well-being of others. When we are touched the Divine reality, our hearts and minds are transformed from those of fearful children clinging to books of rules and regulations for behavior to the generous, gracious adults we are in truth.

The Akashic Record is the space of judge not, resist not, fear not. It is the space of unconditional regard. The space holds us as we release the negative myths about ourselves and others and grow into the amazing truth of who we are. In this time of unprecedented global awakening, one soul at a time, it is an ideal navigational resource for all.

Increasing the Peace Probability

In these times of change, we need effective tools to manage and navigate our lives. The Akashic Records are an ancient tool for spiritual serenity in a turbulent time. For centuries, the Akashic Records have been the exclusive domain of mystics, scholars, and saints. Now, the availability of the Records is shifting: the Akashic Records are within our reach and we are ready. The veil is lifting.

The Record is an experiential body of wisdom, insight, guidance, and healing information. As the archive of all souls and their the journey of awakening into awareness of the truth of the essential divine nature of all beings, it is a neutral or non-judgmental dimension of consciousness. It is from this perspective that we explore the profound question of Peace.

The Nature of Peace
Peace is defined as the absence of war or other hostility; treaties that bring the end of war; harmonious relations; public security; inner contentment or calm; serenity; tranquility–free from strife. Basically, peace is a neutral, non-judgmental presence, one that allows life to unfold as it will.

Energetically, peace is neutral–not for or against any one or any thing. It does not interfere, it does not push or pull, nor does it change things. Peace simply enables energetic patterns of consciousness composed of emotion, thought, and will to cycles to reach their ultimate destinations and become what they will. Peace is the energy of allowing what is to exist as it is.

For example, if you walk into a room and it is full of people seething with anger, you are an actual agent of peace when you maintain your serenity, instead of joining into the negative energy of conflict. Minding your own business is supportive of the Peace process. It is energetically impossible for a person to simply let go of an incomplete pattern or cycle. Your interference is not only a waste of time, but even interference that is aimed at creating harmony will actually add to the overall malady. What works best is to allow people to have their experience, whatever it may be, at the time. Absence of fear makes room for the negative patterns to run their course without interference and find their point of completion.

If we enter into any situation that seems to lack Peace, and we have a desire to direct the outcome in specific ways, we are not agents of Peace. We are agents of bravado. Our job is to seek the peace, look for the peace where it is hidden, know that it is there and it will be found.
It doesn’t matter if we find it first in ourselves or in others, the recognition is sufficient to activate the energy to its next level of intensity and power.

Think Ghandi. Think Jesus. Acknowledge the sacredness of life and essential divinity of each individual. Know that you are safe. No matter what happens, you are safe. No situation, no person, nothing can corrupt the essential goodness of your soul or damage your very essence. It is an energetic impossibility. The soul is unscathable. The personality is another story, as it can bruise, but when we are aware of the fact that our true self is unharmable, it supports resilience in our personality.

Peace is not a state of numbness. It is an active state of consciously creating a space in which resolution can occur. Imagine a basketball hoop. By creating the hoop, you create a space for the basketball to go. Without a hoop, the ball will not go through the hoop. In the same way, we must create a space of Peace in which resolution can take place or there will be no platform on which resolution can be built.

Let It Begin With Me
Inner peace is the only true force for outer peace. Inner peace eludes us when our ego is filled with impatience, self pity, judgment, resentments, pride, and fear. Pride and fear can be especially distracting partners, because pride forces us to fear losing or compromising whatever it is we are so proud of in the first place!

Developing trust in the Source will reveal the truth. We cannot fear losing control because we control nothing. By releasing these obstacles to Peace, we enter a state of harmony.

In this age of well-publicized violence and terrorism, we must identify the ways in which we terrorize ourselves and others and seek the peace that is present even in the worst circumstances. What can make a real difference is to acknowledge the traits we carry that do not produce peace within us, apologize to ourselves and others for the harm we have done, and put our attention on peace as our heart’s desire. Cleaning up our own messes makes room for great light to shine through. Each of us has the authority to be successful in managing our own affairs so that we can be the radiant beings that we are in truth. Again, we acknowledge the sacredness of life and essential divinity of each individual, including our own self.

What a Time It Is!
Nothing is an accident, and it is no accident that you are who you are and where you are at this time of universal change. Take the time to reflect on your role in the present.

Many who are involved in spiritual concerns and New Age consciousness are feeling uncomfortable right now–like they do not fit in. The great change is underway and we are looking for real effective ways to bring about the vision of peace and harmony at every level.
Most people of goodwill truly dislike the terrorism and violence that brought the world to the state it which it now resides, but the feelings of anger must be melted away by an even stronger desire for peace and healing. Anger will not fix this. Peace will fix this.

The most subversive act imaginable is the most simple. Quietly and powerfully embrace Peace in its many facets. Embrace Peace in your own life. Embrace Peace in your dealings with others. Embrace Peace in your prayers and meditations. Feed Peace, nourish Peace, and generate Peace.

Looking for peace will increase our awareness of the Peace that is present in ourselves and in the world. We will then appreciate the presence of Peace no matter what the circumstances. The Truth is that Peace is always present everywhere at all times. Our job as the awakened community is to find it and hold steady in the truth of Peace.

When we speak of 2012, to what are we referring?

December 21, 2012 is the final date at the end of the Mayan Calendar, the Long Cycle. Every quarter of this Long Cycle Calendar has been marked by a dramatic shift in the planet itself, in the form of floods and earthquakes. As we approach the calendar date of 12.21.2012, we are under the influence of the energies converging to facilitate a significant transformation. There is some speculation that it is the end of the world. It may well be the end of the world as we know it. The I Ching also recognizes the significance of this date as a time of great change. Edgar Cayce, the “sleeping prophet,”of the 20th century United States, saw this time from the perspective of the Akashic Records. He saw this time as one where the magnetic poles of the planet would change.

We do not know the exact form this revolution will take. We do see that we are already being influenced by the acceleration of time, the intensification of internal urging to grow and change and the external disturbances in the status quo. Even if we do not subscribe to ancient ideas or spiritual prophecy, it is hard to ignore the fact that life as we have known it for the past few hundred centuries is already changing.

All external change is preceded by internal rearrangements and that is the part of the process we are currently in.

This topic is bigger than you realize. We'll look at it in two major parts. Let's find out what 2012 is all about and then we can examine how to handle it.

There have been times in our history of radical shift, mobilizing the hearts and minds of everyone on the planet at the same time. The Reformation in the 1560s in Western Europe and the Revolutions in America and France in 1776-1789 are two of the most similar in modern times. This passage of 2012 is quite like these in many respects.

Many mythologies point to this upcoming year as the most significant in centuries and they are all correct. Mayan calculations are valid; the seeds of this monumental shift have been planted into the deepest parts of human consciousness over time, as a goal to work toward, a pivotal point in modern times.

What’s important is that, the seeds, the roots, have been growing for a long, long time now and the fruits of this growth are becoming apparent. The process you see is that of the dissolution of the old order, the current order. Every structure, institution, organization, dogma, infrastructure that is rotten, decaying, decomposing, and insufficient to hold up the new level of aliveness being infused and experienced through individuals is doomed to disappear.

The death process is pretty messy and messy is the current state of affairs globally. It's a two-part process. The letting go of what no longer works and the allowing or being open to new outcomes. Allowing the new reality to emerge without the poison of fear and its accompanying over coercion by the fearful and controlling people on the planet. The process is already underway and what we do now, how we manage ourselves personally, will have a significant impact on the whole of the unfolding and emergence.

So the roots are in; the seeds are sown. The idea of a radical shift, an acceleration of life processes, is germane to the mythologies and prophecies addressing this time frame. Some are more negative and scary and others more hopeful and positive. There is a range of understandings about this time of transition and it’s important to know the source of the prophecy. Ultimately, each of us will experience the time passing through our own belief-filter. We are all at liberty to choose which interpretations will support us and which will paralyze us. Even the spin around 2012 is part of the opportunity to grow in spiritual maturity.

The particular time of change is spiritual first, everything else second. Since the mid 1960s, we have been active at the level of the mainstream consciousness in entertaining new ideas and expanding our powers of perception, understanding, and responsibility. This process has been gaining in momentum to lead us to this convergence time-zone. Just think for a minute, in 1975 in western popular culture, how many people even knew what a chakra was? Not many. The early 1980s introduced some wonderful new options for everyday people to wake up into their spiritual nature. Creative visualization, affirmations, intention, alignment of mind and heart, harmony between mind and body….why these were known only to occultists and oddballs 50 years ago. Now, your neighbors all know about these and your talk shows expound on them whether in serious teaching or in jest. So, we have been gathering steam for the big changes that are happening now.

Globally, the economic structure is writhing, politics are scrambling, religious institutions fracturing and decomposing, physical infrastructures ranging from educational institutions to hospitals to highways are worn out and inadequate to hold the present and take us into the future. As our relationship to the truth of our spiritual identity comes into proper alignment, our outer worlds will take right shape and form.

We know from observing nature that all change occurs internally first, then, externally.

What do we do now?

Now, the opportunity of '09 is the time for personal inventory. To take stock of ourselves...take your own inventory as opposed to the inventory of your mate or child. It's a very personal individual activity and each individual adult is called or challenged to a new level of honesty and humility. The honesty is about who I am today and what do I need now to support myself-- to support the possibility for who I am now and who I am becoming...this will determine what to keep, what to release. You know the law is clear that you will never have enough of what you
really don't want. You'll never be satisfied with the finest of what you don't really want, so pass it on. If you're vegetarian you won't ever be happy with Omaha steaks or Japanese kobe beef, so give it to a carnivore!

As each of us engages in this process, a better distribution of resources will naturally occur. If we can approach the issue of distribution of goods and services from the inside, it can cause a huge shift so that there is a more even appropriation, without deprivation or even Robin Hood taking from the rich to give to the poor.

So, if we stop supporting what we don’t want or need and let those structures crumble, we’ll have energy for what we really want to be revealed. But our work now is to say “no” to what we don’t want….not a hostile “NO” but a gracious, “No, thank you…” Try it.

If we are engaging in this letting go consciously we CAN avert disaster. Rigidity and fixed attitudes will cripple us at this time. Disaster would be in the realm of the whole dang house of cards collapsing. People getting hysterical as their impotent governments and corporations crash. Disaster would be military mobilization to enforce supporting archaic organizations. We have to actually live through the time of change and we have choices about how to proceed. It can be a trip to hell or a heavenly journey. It’s our choice.

As we stop putting our money into groups that do not represent us or align with our values, they will collapse. This is good. Consider, if your government does not represent you, why pay taxes? You may not be ready to stop paying taxes, but you may be ready to reflect on one of the founding principles of the American Revolution: that taxation without representation is tyranny.

If you are involved with a religious group that no longer supports you, or if you find you keep trying to change their direction…why not just let go and attend where you are in a more harmonious relationship? Let those around you pursue their truth even if you don’t agree with their direction. That is not for you to determine. Walk away from what is not your truth and walk toward what is. Simple, actually.

Every area of life is up for scrutiny. Take the opportunity. As you do this consciously, you’ll notice a great release of your personal energy. You’ll feel better. Plain and simple.

Next, from this place, you can ask the universe to show you what’s next for you. From this place of clarity, you’ll be able to hear the whisper of the inner voice, to see the face of divine opportunity in front of you, as you go about your day.

There is a lot of pressure building around this 2012, as it should be. The pressure is growing to make each individual a bit uncomfortable, so that it’s easier to make the necessary personal changes. Change is often so difficult for humans and discomfort, discontent, disease, the whole “dis” family conspires to enable people to make change more easily. This pressure, if ignored, will lead to Big Problems. The Big Problems will be self-destructive behavior, increase in addictions, escalation of difficulties in intimate relationships, family and siblings, tribal gang warfare in neighborhoods--no matter what the economic level, and riotous behavior in the workplace. Mayhem and bedlam on the streets and in the government….you see, it’s time for change and we can either cooperate with the forces that be or be crushed by them.

This 2012 zone is comparable to the Age of the Reformation in 1560. That was the most recent dramatic shift in the collective spiritual consciousness (prior to that was the institutionalization of Christianity in the 300s). What happened in the Reformation is that the collective consciousness, through the combination of individuals awakening, broke free from a blind, childish allegiance to an office of leadership (the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church) into a dimension of increased personal authority, personal understanding, and personal responsibility with regard to the common western way of group think of the time. It was unprecedented. It was dangerous. It was courageous. The whole of western civilization was welded to this idea of total unquestioning allegiance to the Church…the Church and the State were one. People who lived outside of the Church were deprived of the customary benefits of society.

Martin Luther was a true radical in his time. His idea was that the Pope was not a divine authority, a scandalous notion at the very least.

We in the west are still living under the organization that emerged through the Protestant Reformation. Now, we are poised to go beyond that framework and to allow a new organization to be revealed.

The impact is dramatic for a few reasons. First, technology has taken us beyond traditional physical limitations of time and space. The boundaries have been dissolved and we can exchange ideas in seconds. Next, traditional mainstream religions are in a decline. Even with the intermittent surges of evangelism, which are a natural occurrence in the American religious journey, mainstream religions are not meeting the needs of people and membership is in decline. This is important because 2012 is not just for the “new agers”! The New Agers are the front runners of the movement but this is not an exclusive movement. And they are not doing this alone. It won’t be long before we will look at the New Agers and smile at their simplicity.

Finally, humanity is ready to be in direct conscious contact with their own spiritual authority. Humanity is evolving. Individuals are ripe to take more responsibility for themselves than ever before. People are exhausted from the failure of their self-will and are open, willing, and ready to surrender to a greater power and wisdom than they ordinarily possess. This is happening globally at so many levels. This is now happening in a potent way in the United States. This is the “prep work” of 2012. Just as 2012 is not a singular event, but a space in time, it identifies a shift that is already underway. If we move with the current, it will be wonderful, messy but beautiful. If we resist, it will hurt. Nothing hurts more than resisting a change whose time has come.

Now, be clear this is occurring within individuals and groups of individuals …it’s actually contagious. People see the light go on in the eyes of their friends and it reminds them of their own inner light.

This process occurs within the individual but is supported in groups. We are interdependent beings. We cannot do everything alone. The paradox is that we can only do our part for ourselves, we cannot do another’s for them, they cannot do ours for us…this is a flow of independence and interdependence. The spiritually mature discover this and go with the flow, allowing the process to unfold.

Here is the key to 2012…this is the time when individuals’ awareness of themselves and others will cause improvement in the quality of the human experience. It will take us into life as opposed to away from life. It will clear away the false perception we have of ourselves and others and enable us to see the truth. We will see others in their divine potential, and we will respond to one another in that way, from that place of true knowing.

As we experience greater peace and unity within ourselves, we will bring that to our relationships, all of them, whether in the bedroom or the board room. This is the light of transformation. The light of the spiritual revolution that is already underway.

The seeds of 2012 were planted in the hearts, minds, and souls of man long, long ago. The bloom is upon us. Our work now is to eliminate the weeds of fear that will sprout. Keep letting go of the old and keep your attention on the light. Glorious things will come to pass for you and everyone you know…and everyone you don’t know.

We see in this transition a shift in the focal point of our reliance. Until now, we have placed our reliance upon ourselves and other people. We have placed our reliance on gods or God of every sort. This is the point in time where the mass of humanity will shift from self-reliance to Divine Reliance…not on a religious god, but on the pure life energy that is God…known by so many different names by so many differing peoples. This shift will be out of necessity. Many have been making this energetic journey but as time takes us to 2012, the majority of us will be forced to do so as well. The human condition is a condition of reliance….the limitations of the human condition require people to access power beyond the physical self. This juncture will force the mass of humanity to let go of reliance on superstition, the idea of a god, and put it on the light of the universe, the pulse and heart of the cosmos.

As we rest and relax into that dimension of power and consciousness, we will be given everything we need to navigate this dramatic and wonderful time.

Riding the Waves of Change

Yesterday, the news screamed the message of an upsurge in the Dow. Wonderful. Today, the screaming continued with the opposite message and a warning. The stern warning issued reminded us not to get too excited about any positive trends, or too pleased with any positive progress in the economy or the news. Blasting from every news source, print, internet, radio, tv and anxious friends on the phone, we are getting bomarded with negativity and fear. On the surface, nothing in our everyday world is stable, solid or uplifting. How can we go on like this?

We are challenged to look beyond appearances, to go deeper than usual to find stability, security and order. We are being pushed to look past our customary sources of sanity and reassurance. Looking further than usual, we can see that there is so much happening totally unaffected by the turbulence of the times.

Look first within your own body, you can see that your heart is pumping, your digestion processing, your lungs exhanging gases, your very physcial being is happening no matter what the headlines have to scream in your face. Your body is maintained without your conscious attention or deliberate strategizing or direction. There is a power in you, greater than you causing you to be.

Looking beyond yourself, you can see that the people around you are having the same experience. People all over the world are having the experience of life in their bodies, unaffected by nightly international news, weather, economic rise and falls, political ups and downs, war and/or peace. There is a quality of life that is enduring.

Looking into nature, we see that the life force that is in each and every seed in each and every plant is unfazed by earthly activities. The crops are growing all over the world, whether in Iowa or the Ukraine. Fruit trees are blooming somewhere right at this very minute. Fish are multiplying in the waters of the earth. On the ground and in the air, animals of all varities are growing in population.

No matter if we are at war or at peace, happy or sad, rich or poor, life is unscathed. Prosperity is a fact of life on the planet, it s the natural state. As we put our attention on what is true and enduring, we can relax into the generous and prosperous state of life. to remain calm and reasonably sane during the time of changes, focus on those truths that have been evident for centuries, look beyond the moment into the whole of time. When you see that the orange groves of the Mediterranean will continue to grow oranges no matter what we do, say or think, it will be easier to trust. That is the power to trust. Trust the power that is multiplying life, the power that is maintaining life, and enjoy it.

Spiritual Revolution

It really looks like we are at the foothills of a spiritual revolution. This revolution involves the shift away from dogma, institutions and religiosity to responsible individual spiritual authority enjoyed independently and in groups. The new availability of the Akashic Records to the general public is a part of this revolution.

Looking back in time, we see there is a relationship between advancement in communication technology and expansion in spiritual awareness. Prior to the invention of the printing press in 1450 by Gutenberg, dissemination of spiritual ideas was incredibly slow by today's standards. The transmission of the key understandings of Buddhism and Christianity was limited to people religiously connected, wealthy and moved at a snail's pace. Scholarly study of sacred text and letters was open to these exclusive groups. Word of mouth and direct experience of the Teacher were the primary means of education for everyone else. Anchoring the movement of the major world religions required time, actually centuries. Still strong in presence and influence, we know the methods of education and transmission were effective even if slow.

In the past 500-600 years, we have witnessed an explosion in communication technology which has accelerated the growth of spiritual awareness for the human race. With the printing press up and running in Western Europe, religious documents were more accessible than ever before in human history. Within 100 years, in 1520, Martin Luther took his famous stand against the Catholic Church and for greater religious freedom, launching the Reformation.

The next great surge was in the 19th century, corresponding to the harnessing of electrical power. Morse put together the telegraph in 1837, Bell invented the telephone in 1876 and by 1878, Edison had a working light bulb. Rooted in spiritualism, metaphysics and transcendentalism the Great Awakening took hold in the States. Within mainstream Protestant denominations the trend from legalism gravitated toward emotionalism and evangelism. New Thought ideas broke into the arena of spiritual conversation led by Quimby who taught Mary Baker Eddy who started the Christian Science Church. M. Blatavsky heading up the Theosophists, Stiener the Anthrosophists were introducing their understandings in Europe. Consciousness liberation was afoot suggesting such principles as "mind over matter" and "spirit as source of all power being greater than material strength." Gone from the new movement in spiritual awareness was blind allegiance to a single creed. For the past 100-150 years, the collective consciousness has been growing accustomed to more choice, more independence, more authority and more responsibility that secular folks have ever enjoyed.

Splitting of the atom at the University of Chicago in 1938, broke open new dimensions of inner realms. The balance of the century became about exploring, comprehending and harnessing multiple dimensions of conscious awareness for the improvement of the human condition and enrichment of the quality of life for all of us.

Now, here we are in 2009. The internet has revolutionized our ability to connect. Within minutes, we can communicate with millions. Spiritual education and transmission are radically expanded and available to the masses. Audio and visual technologies make it possible for people to be touched, moved and enlightened even if they can't read. Technology has made it possible for people all over the world to get their questions answered and their spiritual needs met. This is the perfect environment for the spiritual revolution. Technology is recognized a a resource available to all, with the assumption that everyone is entitled to access. Enter the Akashic Records, via the Pathway Prayer Process based on the same understanding. Assuming that everyone is entitled access to this spiritual resource. Fascinating that the Akashic Records have been referred to by Chaney of Astara, as the "cosmic internet," are integral to this movement. The Spiritual Revolution is happening now, answering the cry of humanity for Divine awareness.

Akashic Records: Ancient Resource for Modern Times

It might be more accurate to say, "Ancient Resource for Maddening Times." I'm fascinated by the infusion of spiritual Light on the planet during times of tremendous change like now. In time frames of major revolutions, whether French, Russian, American or any other, we see an explosion of a full range of energies present for people to experience. Dominant are the forces for dissolution of old orders, collapse of structure past their usefulness and fracturing of patterns of thought no longer relevant. Simultaneously, there are massive openings for new postures, possibilities and potentials. Solutions to problems seem to fall out of the sky. Flashes of insight inspire people to take the new path, experiment with the new idea or implement creative approaches to long-standing dilemmas. Unseen support for change is palpable for those called to action.

Now is such a time. We are in the zone between the decline of the old order and the emergence of the new. The mass consciousness has been on a roller coaster ride. Despair, frustration and exasperation consumed the shared space of consciousness prior to the election of 2008. When Obama won on November 4th, a dramatic shift occurred. Hope took hold, anchoring in the mass consciousness. This was particularly evident in Chicago, the heartland of the nation and launching site of the Obama Era. People were relieved, happy and some a bit naive. A part of the population seemed to think of Obama as "the Saviour," who would personally change their lives. This is similar to the Oprah idea. From November 4, 2008 to January 20, 2009, hope was infused and anchored in the collective consciousness.

January 20, 2009, Inauguration Day signaled another dramatic shift. With Obama securely in office, the underlying fears, upset and shadow broke through into the atmosphere. The stock market fell, negativity rose and the core fears of the culture came to the surface. Fears such as the fear that "it's too late for us," and "we voted for the wrong fella," were close to many conversations. Deeper terrors of being "beyond repair" and "too late to save us" were voiced. The reality that our President, while a gifted leader, is a mere mortal, hit hard. A new level of vulnerability took hold.

In the midst of the madness, are options are few. We can get tossed around by the torrent of collective craziness or we can stand firm in the Light. Here we are in the middle of the storm and our opportunity is obvious. We can graciously decline the roller coaster of lunacy and call in the Light. It's so perfect that now the Records are pouring through into the lives of regular people like ourselves.

Here is our opportunity. Open your Akashic Records. Be in the climate of peace, love, power, clarity, etc.... This is not an escape or avoidance technique. No, this is the truth. Even as we are in the tsunami, there is at the core a place untouched by the storm. Our job is to go to that place and be infused with the the energy of truth. Establish yourself as a point of Light within a Greater Light. When we get a sense of peace, we can move in that direction. We will make decisions based on peace, building on peace in our ordinary lives. The Records hold the place of peace and give the support we need to move from chaos to harmony. We have a choice. It's time to choose wisely.

On February 24, the President addressed the Congress. Another shift registered, from doubt to confidence. This time, President Obama identifies the crisis, points to the path out of ruin and raises the issue of responsibility, both personal and governmental. Ours is the age of responsibility. It is time to recognize that as we admit our faults, we tap into infinite spiritual energy to correct our errors. This is required individually, locally, nationally and globally. We see that grace travels with responsibility encouraging us to go beyond our failings into the new age of peace, prosperity and accountability.

Working in the Records, we access this awareness and it holds us steady until we are able to hold it on our own. We cannot resolve our current crises on our own wits alone. Good ideas are great but they don't go far enough. We have the opportunity to forge the link between the spiritual and material, to be the front runners in the conscious creation of heaven on earth. Through the Records, we have an infinite spiritual resource that will hold us steady as we take a stand for Light. The Records can anchor us as we grow into the awareness of more Light, more peace, more love and more harmony than have ever been realized on our planet.

CD's arrive

Today, the cd's (How to Read the Akashic Records published by Sounds True) arrived at my office. I held the package in my hands for the first time and found myself holding my breath. It took a minute for me to relax into the experience of having my dream come true and actually holding the cd set in my hands. Amazing. When I first started working in the Records, the notion of having the Akashic Records available to anyone who would want them was downright scandalous.

In only 15 years so much has changed for the entire culture. I always thought that the Records would launch at a time of peace and prosperity. Headlines right now are anything but, "peace and prosperity!" A new regime in Washington, economic turbulence, war, and the octuplets have many of us on the edge of our seats wondering what's going on. Someone in the Quad Cities of Iowa reportedly said that this past year of 2008 brought new meaning to the question, "What the heck is going on?"

My experience of working in the Records is one of certainty in the essential goodness of people and life, even when appearances indicate otherwise. Perhaps this is why the Records are being made available now, in 2009 on a mass scale......because now is the time we really NEED them. Now is a time that defies traditional ways of problem solving. Now is a time that calls for flexibility, open mindedness, courage and a good dose of humor. Now is a time to let go of our old ideas, a time to release old programs of perception and understanding and to discover our essential selves having authentic experiences in life. It's perfect that the Records are easier to access than ever before......Perfect because they are a tool that will enable us to find the Light in any chaotic circumstance and provide the guidance we need to follow that Light. Light leading to Light. That's the Records.

What a wonderful story. At the critical moment when ordinary humans are fast approaching the end of the proverbial rope, the Light of the Records emerges and takes the lead, establishing a bridge of Light to any one called to cross. The crossing is from fear to freedom, from anxiety to certainty, from turbulence to tranquility. It is an inner journey with outer consequences. Our situations may not instantly resolve but our relationship to ourselves, others and all circumstances will be restored to harmony and peace. As we come to know more peace than ever before we will see it in our lives. We will witness the peace within ourselves.We will seek AND find the peace that is present everywhere our attention goes. Then, the latent peace within all planetary life will arise as if from a long sleep. We will enjoy the peace potential we have always known was waiting. We will call forth the peace because we know it is there, it has always been there waiting to be recognized and it is there for us because we are the ones who know it to be so.
